WA winner $1.9 million richer

One Western Australian is $1.9 million richer, having shared in Division One Saturday Lotto prize pool over the weekend.

There were a total of three Division One winners nationally, WA sharing with two other Queensland tickets, each taking home $1,937,209.

The WA ticket was sold at Lynwood Newsagency & Post Office.

It’s the first Division One win for Lynwood Newsagency & Post Office owner Vivek Bhujbal, who took over the business a year ago.

“We had a Division Two winner for Powerball a month ago and now we’ve sold Division One on Saturday, hopefully this is just the beginning of the wins,” he said.

“I’m sure the winners will be overjoyed, it’s a lot of money for someone and I wish them all the best,” he said.

“We have great customers who are very supportive, and we look forward to celebrating in the store today.”

South of the river continued to be a Lotto hot spot on Saturday, with a further two tickets winning Division Two, each ticket worth $12,619.

The Division Two tickets were sold at:

  • Nextra Express Ellenbrook
  • Southlake Newsagency
  • Riverton Forum Lottery Kiosk
  • Lotterywest Online

Lotterywest spokesperson, Nikki Brown said the State’s winning run was on track to last year.

“It’s wonderful to be celebrating our eighth Division One winner for the year,” she said.

“What’s more impressive is these eight winners have shared in over $31 million in prize money so far.”

Money raised from playing Lotterywest games goes back into the community through Lotterywest grants, such as the $450,000 grant to City of Canning, for a community building to strengthen the wellbeing of multicultural communities in the south east suburbs.

There’s still another chance for players to take part in a jackpot with the $40 million Powerball on Thursday night.

Tickets are available until 6pm on draw day from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
