How could I win?

  • Lotto is played by drawing eight numbers from a barrel of 45
  • The first six numbers drawn are the Winning Numbers
  • The last two numbers drawn are the Supplementary Numbers
  • The more Winning Numbers you have in each game line, the bigger the prize
  • The minimum entry is four games 
  • Overall odds are the chance of winning any of the prize divisions in a game. Division 1 odds refers to your chance of winning the top prize in the game.

The odds of winning vary for each game. Visit each of the games information pages to find out the odds at various prize levels, for all our games.

Overall odds are the chance of winning any of the prize divisions in lottery draw games or prize levels in a Scratch'n'Win game. Division 1 or Top Prize odds refers to your chance of winning only the Top Prize in the game played.

There’s no skill or strategy that will increase your chance of winning as the chance of winning doesn’t change. You buy just that, a chance to win, not a guarantee.

What happens if there are more than four Set for Life Division 1 or Division 2 winners?

If there are more than four Set for Life Division 1 winners, $80,000 a month for 20 years will be divided equally among them (e.g. five winners will each receive $16,000 a month for 20 years).

If there are more than four Set for Life Division 2 winners, $20,000 a month for 12 months will be divided equally among them (e.g. five winners will each receive $4,000 a month for 12 months).
