Powerball Update

We're excited to share that we're making some updates to the game you love, Powerball. Subject to regulatory approval, the first draw with these updates will be on Thursday 6 November 2025 (Draw 1538), you'll be able to purchase tickets for this draw from 6:01pm on Thursday 30 October.

What's changing?

We're increasing the base week prize from $4 million to $5 million, that's an extra $1 million to win every time Powerball returns to base.

There will also be an increase to the prize pool allocations across Divisions 2-9 with the aim of returning more value to players who win across these divisions (prize payout dependant on sales and number of winners in each draw).

Pricing update

To support the increased base week prize amount the cost to play will increase from $1.20 to $1.40 per game (plus retailer commission). The minimum entry requirement remains at two games in a single draw, with a minimum entry cost of $3.15. Here are the new prices of some popular tickets effective for draws from Thursday 6 November 2025 (Draw 1538) onwards:

Can I still buy Advance Play or Multiweek tickets?

From 6:01pm Thursday 28 August 2025 to 6:00pm Thursday 30 October 2025 some of your usual Advance Play and Multiweek tickets will be unavailable. Click here to see what tickets are available and when.

Can I keep my Favourite Numbers?

Yes, you can! There will be no changes made to the way you play your Favourite Numbers.
