Ways to play

There are many ways to play your favourite Lotterywest games. Some offer more chances to win, others offer more convenience. Here you’ll find all the information you need to enjoy our Lotterywest's games and services.

WAYS TO PLAY

Playslips

Playslips are a great way to play your favourite numbers.

Playslips

Everyone has lucky numbers, and playslips are the best place to use them. You can create tickets using your own numbers in-store, online or with the Lotterywest App. If you’re using your numbers in-store, follow the instructions on the back of the playslip and present this to receive your ticket.

WAYS TO PLAY

Systems

A quick and easy way to increase the number of games you play in a draw.

Systems

Systems are a play style where you get more numbers in each game, or reduce the number of Winning Numbers you need to have to win a prize. The more games you play in each draw, the better your chances of winning because Systems generate combinations of numbers to increase your odds. And because this ticket type multiplies the number of games you’re playing, a winning entry pays multiple prizes. It’s not sorcery, it’s just Systems!

WAYS TO PLAY

Slikpiks

A Slikpik is a ticket where your numbers are randomly selected for you.

Slikpiks

If you’re a no fuss kind of Lotto player, Slikpiks are the easiest way to play. Just pick the draw, choose an option to match your budget, and we’ll give you a ticket of randomly generated numbers. Too easy!

Syndicates

What is a syndicate?

A syndicate is a group of people who play together to share the cost of the ticket and any winnings. By pooling your money together, you can play more games and increase your chances of winning! Plus it’s more fun playing in a team.

Syndicates are available for Saturday Lotto, Millionaire Medley, OZ Lotto, and Powerball. You can also play Systems as part of a syndicate. So grab a bunch of mates, or make some new ones, and increase your chances of winning today! Use our handy syndicate planner to help you start.

Join an existing syndicate

Visit a Lotterywest store to buy a share in an existing syndicate. Simply ask what shares are available for the game you would like to play or your ideal spend.

Create your own syndicate

If you have a group of friends, family or work colleagues, why not set up your own syndicate? Setting up your syndicate is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Gather your team
  2. Decide on spend per person
  3. Get your tickets (your local retailer can help you)

Syndicates allow you to share the excitement of the game and possibly a whole lot of money!

Lotterywest members registering syndicates

Register your individual share of a syndicate or multiple shares by scanning your membership card when creating your syndicate. Just remember, if the syndicate wins, all syndicate shares that are registered to your individual membership must be presented together with your card to claim the prize.

A Powerpik can increase your odds of winning

Why play Powerpiks?

Advance Play

There's no reason to ever miss a draw with Advance Play!

Advance Play

Going away? There’s no reason to miss a draw! Stay in the game with Advance Play. Enter a draw up to nine weeks in advance for Lotto games and six draws in advance for Set for Life and Cash 3. Ask for a Slikpik or mark the Advance Play box on the front of your completed playslip and let the retailer know which draw you want to enter. WAYS TO PLAY

Multiweek

Get ahead and buy tickets for draws across multiple weeks.

Multiweek

If you like to play the same numbers every week, save some time with a Multiweek ticket. Get ahead and buy tickets for draws two, five, or ten weeks in advance for Lotto or two, four, six, eight or ten weeks in advance for Set for Life. Your numbers will play automatically, so all you have to do is sit back and relax.

Odds of winning

Understand the odds to help decide on the game that is right for you.

Odds of winning

The more you know about the games and how the odds work, the better equipped you are to make informed decisions when you play. While the odds vary from game to game, the odds of winning all work the same way. No amount of thinking, planning, or strategising will have an impact on your likelihood of winning as each play is totally random and completely unpredictable for Lotto draw and Scratch'n'Win games.

And remember: you’re always in control of how much to spend, how often you play and for how long.

Frequently Asked Questions

Buy a share in-store

Visit a Lotterywest store to buy a share in a syndicate. Simply ask what shares are available for the game you want to play or how much you would like to spend. If you have a Lotterywest membership, make sure you register your ticket against it so your winnings are automatically paid out to it.

Create your own

You can create your own syndicate with friends and family. Start by downloading the Syndicate Planner and select the game and ticket options you want to play. Then you're ready to visit your local Lotterywest store and fill in a playslip or ask for a Slikpik. Ask the retailer to print a valid share ticket for each syndicate member. This gives each person the peace of mind and convenience to claim their share of prizes on winning entries themselves. You can read more about syndicates here.

Here’s an example of how System entries work by using a System 8 Saturday Lotto entry:

  • Select any eight numbers between 1 and 45, for example: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
  • Your System 8 entry will contain 28 games, each with six number combinations of your selected eight numbers.
  • Your ticket will only display your eight chosen numbers, however your entry actually has 28 games.
  • Winning System entries pay multiple prizes because each game contains a similar pattern of numbers. For example, if the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 are among the Saturday Lotto Winning Numbers, games 1 to 6 would each be eligible for a prize.

Tip

Joining a syndicate is a great way to play Systems! A syndicate is a group of lottery players who share the cost of a Lotto ticket to play more games and increase the chances of winning.

Combo Packs are available exclusively in-store and are an easy way to play most of your favourite games throughout the week. Choose the option suited to your budget and your retailer will print a ticket for each game included in your chosen Combo Pack and give you all the tickets. Make sure you have all the games before you leave the store!
