At the heart of Down Syndrome WA (DSWA) is a powerful mission - to empower people with Down syndrome to live a life of their choice and to support them in achieving their goals. Through meaningful resources, education, and training, DSWA provides vital support to individuals, families, and communities across Western Australia.
Creating a sense of connection and inclusion is integral to DSWA's mission, and now thanks to you playing Lotto, a $11,013 Lotterywest grant has helped them purchase audio visual equipment to support activities and encourage a greater sense of belonging for those living with Down syndrome.
Through the support of this grant, DSWA has the ability to deliver engaging activities that encourage participation, creativity, and community - parent Paula Salgado shares the impact this has on families, "knowing that these services exist means we're not alone, and we're going through this journey as one big family; family that you feel needed, wanted and loved."
