Tonight’s $100 million Powerball jackpot has raised more than $14 million for the Western Australian community.
Thanks to WA players and retailers, Lotterywest is able to support community organisations across the State through a grants program.
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said while one ticket from New South Wales matched the numbers to the $100 million prize, the WA community is still a winner tonight.
“As a State Government owned and operated lottery, all available profits from ticket sales go into our grants program, which supports communities across WA,” she said.
“From a $4.65 million grant to build a community hub in Newman, to a $12,924 grant providing heating for the Blackwood Dungeons and Dragons Winterfest in July.
“WA is a better place to live thanks to Lotterywest grants, and this is all down to WA players and the retailers who sell Lotterywest games.”
In tonight’s draw, more than 360,000 WA winners shared Powerball prizes across other divisions.
Saturday Lotto’s Superdraw on 21 June is a chance for WA players to share in a $20 million Division One prize.
Tickets are available until 6pm on draw day in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
