A WA couple unwinding after the thrill of a music concert mistakenly thought checking their Saturday Lotto ticket might calm their excitement.
The couple in their 50’s discovered their Saturday Lotto Slikpik 50, purchased online, had turned into a Division One prize worth $627,568.
“After coming out of the concert I decided to check my Lotto ticket and couldn’t believe what I saw,” the winner said.
“I was shaking and in tears when I realised we had won the Lotto and I’ve been in shock ever since.”
The couple said the life-changing win will take some time to sink in, but helping family is on their list.
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said a good night sleep after a concert is already hard enough, but an encore Lotto win must have made it impossible.
“I can’t imagine the excitement of coming out of a show and then discovering right after you’re a lotto winner,” he said.
“It’s fantastic to see another WA couple celebrate a life-changing win and hopefully there is more to come ahead of Thursday’s $100 million Powerball draw.
“This week’s $100 million Powerball jackpot is a great chance for WA players to join a syndicate with friends, family or workmates, to share the cost of a ticket and possibly the joy of a win.”
Tickets for Powerball are available until 6pm on Thursday in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
