State Government supports inaugural Merredin Festival

Premier Mark McGowan met with the Shire of Merredin today and presented a $25,000 Lotterywest grant to support the inaugural Merredin Memorial Festival.

The three-day festival, which starts on Friday September 24, will commemorate the town's heritage, agricultural industry and Aboriginal culture. It will also pay tribute to Merredin's military history, with the Festival dubbed 'Troops, Trains, and Treasures.'

An immersive media display at night will also feature, lighting up local heritage buildings to help share the historical significance of Merredin during World War II.
