Soon to be father wins $1 million

A soon to be father finds himself to be Western Australia’s most recent millionaire after buying a Monday Lotto ticket right after welcoming the news of his unborn baby’s gender.

Purchased from Jackpot Lottery Centre in Mirrabooka, the ticket worth $1 million, was among two tickets across the country to match the winning numbers.

“I bought the ticket right after my wife and I found out the gender of our first baby,” he said.

“I’m still in shock that we’ve won.

“Our little girl might be a lucky charm for us.”

Separated from family due to the pandemic, the couple plan to use their winnings to travel home and celebrate both the win and their soon to be daughter with the ones they love.

“It’s been a very long time since we’ve seen our family who live overseas,” he said.

“We can’t wait to celebrate with them!”

This week players have the chance to take home $20 million with Saturday Lotto’s surprise Superdraw.

For the first time in Saturday Lotto history, no one across the country matched the numbers to last week’s special $10 million event, seeing it jackpot and delivering a surprise $20 million Superdraw this weekend.

Tickets are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app until 6pm draw day.
