Rockingham woman celebrates Saturday Lotto win

A Rockingham woman in her 50s is planning a three-day work week thanks to her $1.69 million Saturday Lotto Division One prize.

The woman recently claimed her prize when the numbers she has been playing for 30 years were the winning numbers in the draw on Saturday 17 May 2025.

Thanks to her ticket being registered, purchased via Lotterywest Play Online, the woman received a life-changing call from Lotterywest with the good news the following Monday.

The winner said she was working at home when she received the call, and had to go outside where the signal was better to hear properly.

“I was in total shock when I got the call, I could not believe it,” the winner said.

“I was in disbelief. It’s life changing.”

The woman quickly headed inside to share the good news with her wife, and they have been celebrating ever since.

The couple, who are in the early stages of building a house, can now create their dream home, and the winner plans to reduce her workload to three days a week.

“It’s something I had hoped would be possible down the track, now I can really make it happen.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said since the start of the year Saturday Lotto has created 23 Division One wins in WA, with these players sharing in more than $28 million in prizes.

“Last weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw produced a trio of WA Division One wins worth $1.2 million each, sold in Ellenbrook, Albany and Yokine,” she said

“We hope to make more dreams become realities for WA players in tonight’s $50 million Powerball jackpot.”

Thanks to WA players and local retailers, Lotterywest supports community groups across the State with grants funded by all available profits from every ticket purchased.

A Lotterywest grant of $2 million is supporting the City of Swan’s Ellenbrook Community Hub, which is providing opportunities for the local community to come together and connect.

Tickets are available for tonight’s $50 million Powerball jackpot until 6pm today in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
