Powerball powers to $120 million

Powerball has powered to a $120 million jackpot, the second highest jackpot in the history of the game.

Powerball’s highest ever jackpot was in 2019 when it reached $150 million and was won by three eastern states winners who each took home $50 million.

While no one across the country matched tonight’s winning numbers, more than 320,000 WA winners shared in almost $6 million worth of prizes across the other Divisions.

This included one Division Two ticket worth $73,239, which was sold in Newman from Newman News, Gifts and Lottery Centre.

Lotterywest spokesperson Lisa Williams said Thursday’s jackpot was set to create huge excitement and anticipation across WA.

“$120 million is the second highest jackpot in Powerball history. This is going to be huge,“ she said

“The last time the jackpot got anywhere near this number was in July 2018 when it reached $110 million“

Thanks to those players who supported the jackpot over the last six weeks, Lotterywest has raised almost $14.5 million to help the WA community.

“WA loves to support a big jackpot and this in turn supports the WA community through the Lotterywest grants program,” Ms Williams said.

Lotterywest is the only State Government owned and operated lottery in Australia, where all the profits are returned to the WA community.

Tickets for the $120 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm draw day from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
