A man in his 30’s from Tapping has come forward to claim WA’s first Saturday Lotto win for 2024.
The ticket holder purchased his Slikpik 12 from Lotterywest online and has won more than $628,000 thanks to his Division One win.
The winner said he decided to purchase the ticket after scoring a small prize in last week’s record-breaking $200 million Powerball jackpot.
“I usually just buy a ticket for the bigger jackpots,” he said.
“When I opened the Lotterywest App on Saturday night, I was shocked to see that I’d won.
“I told my partner and she said, ‘you’re lying’.”
The winner plans to use some of the prize money as a deposit to buy a house and will go on a family trip to Japan.
“I’ll also get myself a dirt bike, my brothers like to go and now I can join them.
“This is definitely life-changing, it has set us up.”
Lotterywest spokesperson Emma Rogers said it’s exciting to welcome a Saturday Lotto player to the Winners’ Room for the first time in 2024.
“This Saturday will be the first Superdraw of the year and it would be fantastic to have a few West Aussies share in the $20 million Division One prize,” she said.
Tickets for Saturday Lotto’s Superdraw are available in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App until 6pm on Saturday.
