Midland retailer sells $1 million Lotto ticket

An eastern suburbs Lotterywest store has sold a winning Division One ticket in last night’s Lotto draw.

This is WA’s ninth winner in the first five weeks of the year.

Another two Division One winners from Victoria and New South Wales shared in last night’s win, each ticket worth $1 million.

WA’s winning ticket, which remain unclaimed, was sold at NewsXpress Centrepoint in Midland.

Owner of the store, Paul Kirwan, said he hopes that the winner is one of his loyal regular customers.

“We’ve so many great customers and I’m really excited that we’ve played a part in making one of their dreams come true,” he said.

“This is such a great start for us in 2022.”

More than 13,000 Western Australians shared in prize money across the other divisions.

All attention now turns to tonight’s $40 million Powerball jackpot.

Throughout this four-week Powerball jackpot run, WA players have raised over $5.6 million which will go back into the WA community through the Lotterywest grants program.

A Lotterywest grant of more than $300,000 was awarded to the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of WA towards developing new business technologies to support Aboriginal art centres and artists across WA.

Tickets to tonight’s $40 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm tonight via Lotterywest  in-store, online or via the app
