Last chance to secure tickets

Nearly 500,000 tickets are expected to be sold in tonight’s $50 million Powerball draw so Lotterywest is urging people to get their tickets early.

Powerpik 7, Slikpik 4 and Slikpik 2 were among the most popular ticket types but Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said you just had to be in it to be in with a chance to take home a prize.

“The busiest time for our retailers is between 4pm and 5pm tonight where we’re expecting to see 425 tickets sold every minute, so it’s best to beat the rush,” he said.

“The last time Powerball climbed to $50 million was in March this year and we’re really hoping it goes to a WA winner.”

He said 2021 had experienced a Lotto luck with 22 WA winners sharing in more than $50 million Division One prizes.

“Some of our popular metropolitan suburbs for Division One wins has been Perth, Morley and Cloverdale, while in regional WA it’s been Bunbury, Albany, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie,” he said.

Powerball’s four-week jackpot run is estimated to raise more than $7 million for the WA community through its grants program.

Tickets can be bought up until 6pm on draw days in-store, online or via the app.
