"Good karma" leads to scratchie win

A Canning Vale man has claimed a $100,000 prize on his $20 $2,760,000 Fortune Scratch’n’Win ticket, interrupting his family’s breakfast in the process.

The man said that he had scratched his ticket and walked into the family room and climbed up onto the table when he had realised.

“My family said, “What are you doing? Are you crazy?” and I just kept shaking the scratchie in the air shouting, “I’ve won! I’ve won!” he said.

The man went on to say that he believed his success was the result of good karma having been a regular blood and plasma donor over many years, and he was looking forward to planning for the future.

Lotterywest spokesperson Sam Clark said that while the Lotterywest Winners Room has been filled with Scratch’n’Win winners overs the last week, the owner of Saturday’s $2.8 million Superdraw ticket remains a mystery.

“We are really excited to meet WA’s newest Lotto multi-millionaire. We are also hoping that lightning strikes twice, and WA has a winner in this weekend’s special $10 million draw,” Mr Clark said.

Tickets are available for Saturday Lotto’s special $10 million draw now until 6pm draw day from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
