A south of the river man has claimed a Division One prize worth $546,068 from the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The man, who has been playing his favourite numbers for the past 30 years, said he had five winning numbers the weekend before.
“I had a good feeling I might get six this weekend,” the winner said.
“I bought the ticket at Newstime Lottery Centre in Perth’s CBD and went back there on Monday morning to check my ticket, which is when I found out I had won Division One.
“I am still in shock. This is life-changing for my family.”
The winner, who plans to retire a little earlier, had recently been looking at caravans with his wife.
“I am looking forward to travelling around Australia with my wife in probably a bit more of a luxurious caravan than we had initially planned,” he said.
The winner also plans to share his life-changing prize with his four children and six grandchildren, who he will take out for breakfast to celebrate.
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said Saturday’s draw produced another Division One winner for Western Australia, thanks to a ticket purchased through Lotterywest Play Online.
“What a great result for WA players with two Division One wins thanks to Saturday’s draw,” Zoe said.
“Saturday Lotto continues to be the game that produces more Division One wins in WA than any other game, and we hope to see this good news continue for next Saturday's $20 million Superdraw.”
WA also celebrated eight Division Two wins on Saturday, worth more than $9,220 each.
Thanks to WA players and retailers, a Lotterywest grant of $169,747 is supporting the Underground Collaborative with employment programs and support for at-risk women and young people.
Tickets for Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw are available until 6pm on Saturday in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
