Butterflies for Beeliar construction worker

10 May 2021

A construction worker from Beeliar has been revealed as the official ticket holder of a $5 million prize from last Tuesday’s OZ Lotto jackpot.

Western Australia produced two Division One winners in the jackpot, and last week a Roleystone man was the first to come forward to claim his prize.

The construction worker said he was on his way home from work when he became aware of the news.

“I actually stopped off to buy a Lotto ticket for another draw, and when I reached into my wallet to pay, I saw I had another ticket to get checked,” he said.

“I was gobsmacked when they told me the news; I had butterflies in my stomach.”

The construction worker said he had worked hard for most of his life.

“This means financial security and enjoying life,” he said.

“It shaves about a decade off my work life and means an early retirement.”

Meanwhile, WA’s run of Lotto winners continued over the weekend with three Division One winning tickets, each worth over $1.8 million, in Saturday’s Superdraw.

One of these tickets sold at Carine Glades Lottery Centre has been claimed today, while the ticket from Moora Newsagency and a Lotterywest syndicate of 11 shares, remained unclaimed.

This weekend will see a special $10 million event on Saturday Lotto.

Tickets are available until 6pm Saturday from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
