A South West woman has been gifted the birthday present of the year, thanks to Saturday Lotto.
The woman said she received the present from her friend, who bought the ticket from NewsXpress Bunbury Forum.
The birthday gesture turned from a Slikpik 12 into a $1.6 million prize.
“It’s topped all my other birthday presents, that’s for sure,” the woman in her 80s said.
"I've been so stressed about the win, I said to myself God don't let me die yet, I want to share this with my family and friends.
The win was one of two Division One prizes from last weekend’s special $10 million Saturday Lotto draw, which saw games from NewsXpress Bunbury Forum, and West Busselton News & Post turn into a seven-figure prize.
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said next week will offer two significant draws.
“OZ Lotto and Powerball have both jackpotted to $20 million, so there’s plenty on offer for hopefully our next WA winner,” he said.
“At this stage WA is home to 78 Division One winners, so let’s see if we can build on that total before the festive season.”
Tickets are available in-store, online and via the Lotterywest app until 6pm draw day.
