Meet WA's newest OZ Lotto millionaires

Both of last Tuesday’s OZ Lotto winners have now come forward to claim their $5 million Division 1 prizes!

The first winner to come forward was a Roleystone man in his 30's who bought his ticket through his Lotterywest online membership with previous winnings from other games.

He said he only bought Lotto tickets when there was a big jackpot.

“There was a big Saturday Lotto game and a Powerball jackpot and OZ Lotto was the last one and I had $6.60 left to spend so just bought a five-line game on the fly,” he said.

“I was feeling lucky because we’re expecting our first child and I was starting a new job.”

He said he planned to buy a new car and a block of land down south to build.

“I’ll also go back to study, since I can now pay off my HECS debt, and pay that one in cash . . . I’ll also be taking super extended paternity leave.”

A construction worker from Beeliar has been revealed as the second official ticket holder. He said he was on his way home from work when he became aware of the news.

“I actually stopped off to buy a Lotto ticket for another draw, and when I reached into my wallet to pay, I saw I had another ticket to get checked,” he said.

“I was gobsmacked when they told me the news; I had butterflies in my stomach.”

The construction worker said he had worked hard for most of his life.

“This means financial security and enjoying life,” he said. “It shaves about a decade off my work life and means an early retirement.”

Congratulations to both of the winners!

Your next chance to win is in tonight's $2 million OZ Lotto draw. Plus, this weekend is a special Saturday Lotto event, with a $10 million Division 1 prize pool instead of the usual $5 million.

Tickets are available in-store, online and via the app.
