December is shaping up to finish the year on a high for Western Australia, with a total of six Division 1 winners so far. With half the month still to come, it’s looking like the 2020 record of most WA Division 1 wins in a month (10 winners in February) is about to be overtaken.
The latest winner was a Monday Lotto ticket sold from The Lucky Charm Gwelup – the only Division 1 winner nation-wide – which is now worth $1 million.
Owners Max Kong and Jing Li said they were delighted about the news. “It’s very exciting, we only took over this business three weeks ago!” they said. “We feel really lucky and urge people to now check their tickets.”
The biggest win of the month went to a southern suburbs woman turned into a multi-millionaire with her OZ Lotto Division 1 ticket, worth a huge $5.9 million. She had only gone into The Lucky Charm Waikiki in search of a book, which turned out to be out of stock, and instead walked out with the unsuspecting winning ticket for the Tuesday 8 December draw. This win was followed by two West Aussies who took our Division 1 Saturday Lotto prizes, each taking home over $880,000. One of the tickets was from Morley Millions, and the other a Lotterywest membership online.
The first win of the month happened on Friday 4 December, with a West Aussie now Set for Life after their Lotterywest online membership ticket won the Division 1 prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years. Only a day later, a Saturday Lotto ticket from Here’s Luck Lottery Centre in Cloverdale won over $900,000.
