Willetton family’s 2.3 million reasons to say, ‘I told you so.’

A Willetton family has proven a fortune teller’s prediction wrong, thanks to their $2.3 million Saturday Lotto Megadraw win.

The ticket, purchased online, was one of the two WA based tickets to claim a Division One prize in Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw on 30 December 2023.

When visiting Lotterywest HQ to claim the win, the ticketholder said they always had a feeling they would win one day.

“A family member went to a fortune teller who when asked said I was not going to win Lotto, but turns out they were wrong,” she said.

“I was going through my work emails when I noticed a message from Lotterywest telling me to check my ticket.

“After discovering the win, I haven’t had much sleep, and I usually sleep like a champ.”

While the winners plan to keep working, they are happy to be able to support their family and plan a few holidays.

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said the search continues for the owner of the second Division One prize from this draw, which was purchased from Michael's Health Care Chemist in Wembley.

“Our advice to anyone who bought a Saturday Lotto ticket for the $30 million Megdraw from Wembley is to check it as soon as you can,” he said.

“After celebrating 83 winners in 2023, we are now waiting to welcome our first WA winner for the new year.

“It would be special to kick 2024 off with a $50 million winner from this Thursday’s Powerball draw.”

Tickets for Thursday’s $50 million Powerball draw are available in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App until 6pm Thursday.
