WA Set for Life win set to fill some holes

Western Australia’s latest Set for Life winners plan to upgrade their wardrobe thanks to their history making win.

The couple, in their 30’s, are WA’s first Division Two winners following a revamp of Set for Life.

The Division Two win means they’ll receive $5,000 a month for the next year.

“We’ve been using our own numbers since August and dropped one number off since the new game launched,” the winner said.

“Two weeks later it’s delivered a Division Two win.

“Some new shoes and work clothes will be in order as my old ones were getting holes in them.”

Thanks to WA players who purchased a Lotterywest ticket, funds have also been raised to contribute to the COVID-19 Relief Fund. All available profits from Lotterywest tickets, excluding statutory grants, will go towards the Fund which supports organisations and people experiencing hardship due to COVID-19.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said it was fantastic to see WA’s first Division Two winners since changing the odds and prize amount.

“The game’s matrix is now seven winning numbers out of 44, previously it was eight out of 37, which means the odds of winning any prize have improved,” Ms Coleman said.

“Set for Life’s old Division Two prize sat around $6,000, but these new changes mean the prize is now $5,000 a month for a year – ten times more than before.”

This is the fourth Division Two win across the country since the game changes last month.

The game’s Division One prize remains the same at $20,000 a month for 20 years for up to four winners.
