The numbers to crunch for tonight’s $60M Powerball jackpot

The end of financial year is number-crunching season and Lotterywest is hoping the numbers go WA’s way in tonight’s $60 million Powerball jackpot.

If a West Australian were to take out the whole prize tonight, it would be a record for the state and the third highest individual prize in Australian lottery history.

The current record is $107 million for a Sydney woman in January 2019, $70 million to a Queensland winner in 2016 and $50 million each to a WA winner in July 2015 and a Canberra winner in May 2015.

To take home tonight’s multi-million dollar Division One prize pool a ticket entry needs to hold seven winning numbers plus the Powerball.

While Powerball is a random game of chance and every number has an equal chance of being drawn, Lotterywest can reveal some of this year’s luckiest  numbers.

“For barrel A where seven winning numbers are drawn from 35, the most frequent winning numbers have been were 17 (drawn 20 times) and  2, 11, 20, 29 (drawn 14 times each) and 4, 7 and 22 (drawn 13 times each),” said Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman.

“The luckiest Powerball this year has been 19, which was drawn six times.”

Lotterywest said with close to half a million tickets set to be sold across the State in tonight’s draw, players are encouraged to get their tickets early.

Tickets for tonight’s $60 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.

Thanks to those who purchase Lotterywest tickets, the Powerball jackpot roll will raise about $10 million to help build a better WA through Lotterywest grants.
