Syndicate celebrate Megadraw win, while three tickets unclaimed

While three $1.7 million Division One winning tickets from the weekend’s Saturday Lotto Megadraw remained unclaimed in Western Australia today, Lotterywest HQ has still seen a steady stream of winners lining up to claim their share in the fourth Division One winner, a syndicate.

The syndicate of ten shares sold across several Lotterywest stores, will split the $1.7 million prize to each take home just over $176,000.

First through the doors to claim their share was a male duo from Perth’s south who said they’d struck Division Three luck twice in the past month.

“We believe when you’re in the winning zone, you gotta keep going!” they said.

“We’ve now walked away with being able to pay off two mortgages and a very large smile on each of our faces.”

Following close behind to claim their share, was a work crew of eight from Boddington.

“We found we’d won during halftime while playing our regular cricket game and had a few beers to celebrate,” they said.

“This win has certainly brought us closer together and made us tighter as a crew.”

Spending plans for the eight mates included home renovations and helping to pay for two upcoming weddings amongst the group.

Saturday night’s $30 million Megadraw produced 17 Division One winners across the nation - four of these produced in WA.

WA’s three $1.7 million unclaimed tickets were purchased from Winning Streak Lottery Centre in Warwick, Medina Newsagency, and Spencer Village News and Lotteries in Thornlie.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said while 2018 had been an incredible year of Lotto luck in WA with 57 Division One winners, the New Year was looking just as exciting.

“We’re kick starting 2019 with a $50 million Powerball jackpot on Thursday and what a way to begin our winners tally for the year in a WA takes home the jackpot!” she said.

Powerball tickets are now available from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
