Perth’s north claims almost $2 million in outstanding Lotto wins

A Joondalup couple have spent more than a week completely unaware they were carrying $1.23 million in their wallet.

Their Saturday Lotto ticket, from Grand Boulevard Lotteries Kiosk in Joondalup, matched all six winning numbers in Saturday Lotto’s draw on 6 June.

At first the couple thought they’d won $750 but when they re-checked the ticket, they realised it had all the winning numbers.

“We kept checking over and over again and that’s when it clicked - we could actually be millionaires,” they said.

The couple said they planned to use the prize money to help close family who were out of work and struggling financially.

“Everybody in the family gets a helping hand,” they said.

The good news for Perth’s north didn’t stop there with another outstanding Saturday Lotto Division One prize being claimed by a man from Perth’s northern suburbs.

The winner said he had no idea he was the owner of ticket from a draw in late May which was worth more than half a million dollars.

“Lotterywest called me, but I thought it was a scam at first,” he said.

“I was ready to tell him where to go until he asked me to check my account, that’s when I started to shake.”

The next big chance for local Lotto players to win big is in this weekend’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

All available profits from Lotterywest tickets contribute to the COVID-19 Relief Fund which will help those in the community impacted.
