Albany home to latest Division One winner

Lotterywest is encouraging anyone who bought a ticket in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw in Albany to check them as they could be holding a Division One winner.

Across the country seven tickets matched the winning numbers to an $834,000 prize, Albany’s Plaza Lotteries was home to one of them.

Owner Wayne Walczak said it was fantastic to see another Division One winner for the store.

“We’re very excited for the winner,” Mr Walczak said.

“We’ve had a lot of customers come through, but at this stage the ticket is still out there.”

Albany’s latest Division One win comes only two months after another local store, Brooks Garden News, produced a Division One ticket worth $852,722.

The prize was claimed by a Ravensthorpe man in his 50’s who had purchased his ticket while visiting family in the town.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said the State’s latest win could be a sign of good things to come in this weekend’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

“The Superdraw will see the estimated $5 million Division One prize pool, bumped to a $20 million offer,” she said.

“Our advice to local players is to get your tickets early with sales peaking on draw day.”

The weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw also produced nine Division Two, each more than $9,500 each, and sold at:
•    E E Hambley Pty Ltd
•    Kardinya Park NA and Cards
•    Kingsway City Lottery Centre
•    Lakers News
•    Lotterywest Play Online
•    Morley Millions
•    Nextra Ellenbrook

Thanks to Lotterywest players, a $1.6 million grant helped revamp Albany’s Town Hall.
