Parkour pizazz at Youth Plaza

We recently launched a campaign to say thank you to WA – make sure you check it out! It’s a great reminder for all West Australians to show the difference you make to a huge range of volunteers, charities and community groups every time you play a Lotterywest game.

From projects that preserve our State’s unique environment, to events that bring the community together, and charities that help people in crisis: we’re so incredibly proud of the work they do. And we want to turn the spotlight on them – and in you, because after all, you help make these things come to life.

Have you heard about the City of Fremantle’s Youth Plaza? Not only is it one of Australia’s top skate parks, it’s also home to WA’s FIRST EVER outdoor parkour park. Here you can run, jump, leap, flip and soar to your heart’s content. And we definitely think it’s a great example of what playing Lotterywest games can help achieve through our grants.

Youth Plaza is so much more than your run of the mill skate ramp. It’s a hotspot for young people, families and more to hang out in Fremantle. There’s even a stage and outdoor amphitheatre perfect for concerts and events.

A $600,000 Lotterywest grant towards construction costs meant that the City of Fremantle could take plans for the park to the next level and build a space the community could really love. So on behalf of all the skaters, parkour lovers and Freo families heading to the plaza – thanks for playing, WA.

What does my money support in WA?

Every time you play Lotterywest games, you’re helping community organisations across the State provide services, support and inspiration to people all over Western Australia. Last financial year alone, we were able to contribute $260 million to the WA community. So why not pick up a ticket today and keep WA winning?
