With the warm weather finally hitting our shores (or starting to!), it seemed like the perfect time for an Albany family to indulge in a surf - and a $10 Double Play scratchie at the beach that they'd picked up from Clark's Newsagency. Little did they know that it would turn out to be a pretty incredible day beyond the beautiful water...
After scratching away to reveal they'd won $300,000, they couldn't believe their eyes! The winner told us he didn't know if it was right or not, and thought something must have been wrong with the ticket. The news still hadn't sunk in when they made their way to us to claim their prize.
"Once the money goes through there will be wicked celebrating!"
The family man is planning on paying off bills and debt, sharing the winnings with close friends and family - and helping their children. When they're old enough to drive he plans on buying them secondhand cars - and one for himself too!
