Morning cuppa delivers a surprising win

A northern suburbs woman, who recently relocated from regional Western Australia to Perth, has won $100,000 on a Scratch’n’Win ticket.

The $20 WA Gold scratchie was purchased from Osborne Park Newsagency.

The winner said she had been trying out newsagencies in her new area when she decided to purchase the Scratch’n’Win ticket.

After sitting down for a morning cuppa, the woman scratched the ticket and realised she’d won $100,000.

“I was really surprised I had won,” she said

“It’s a great start to my new life after moving to Perth from the country.”

After letting the win sink in, the winner said she planned to use the winnings to upgrade her car.

“My family has expanded and with my older kids getting bigger, it’s time to get a larger car that will make it easier for us to get around,” she said.

Last year, Scratch’n’Win tickets delivered more than $26 million back to the WA community through Lotterywest’s grants program.

Lotterywest is uniquely the only State Government owned and operated lottery in Australia, supporting the community for more than 90 years.
