Million-dollar OZ Lotto winner had it written in the stars

A northern suburbs mother has a clairvoyant to thank for her million-dollar OZ Lotto win this week.

The 56-year old said she bought Lotto tickets “every now and then” but after she was told she would win from the psychic a little over a year ago, she has since bought a ticket every week.

The OZ Lotto 12-game Slikpik, purchased via her online membership, turned into a $1.25 million windfall.

“I was buying this week’s Powerball ticket online and thought I’d just check my OZ Lotto numbers at the same time and couldn’t believe it,” the winner said.

“I was calm, but it didn’t seem real as I thought, “Will someone call me?” but no one did and so I thought I’d imagined it.

“I then, very shyly, called Lotterywest in the morning and they verified it for me.”

WA’s latest Division One win has contributed to a fast-growing tally of 60 this calendar year who have shared in more than $74 million worth of prizes.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said the next chance to win big was in tonight’s Powerball $40 million jackpot.

“During Powerball’s four-week jackpot run, Lotterywest is expecting to raise more than $5.5 million for the WA community through its grants program,” she said.

Tickets for tonight’s $40 million Powerball jackpot are available through Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app until 6pm.
