We’d like to extend a warm welcome to Effie, the new owner of Busy Bee Kiosk in Kelmscott. Effie works with her three daughters, Farisha, Stephanie and Mastika, and says they are “just a bunch of cheerful gals”.
After working in three different Lotto kiosks since 2007, Effie made the decision to do what she does best and buy a store of her own.
Starting a business during COVID-19 she said was challenging.
“To keep my dream alive, I still opened as per usual during the pandemic,” Effie said.
“Luckily enough, the kiosk is situated at a small shopping centre, so I still managed to have a steady income.”
Talking with customers and being able to spend more time with her daughters is what she enjoyed most about her day.
