Meet Onna and Chris, the husband and wife team and owners of The Lucky Charm Bull Creek. Since becoming Lotterywest retailers last December they’ve learned a lot about running a newsagency, and they say it’s been a success thanks to the support of their fabulous team.
“We started during the busiest time of the year. Fortunately, we have fantastic staff who were very patient and great teachers,” said Onna.
“My manager, Olivia, has been in the industry a lot longer than us and her knowledge and suggestions are something I look forward to daily.”
Onna says that creating a workplace where the team can be creative and have a laugh is important.
“We encourage our team to be creative, laugh out loud, and to have some fun. A happy workplace is a productive workplace,” she said.
“I’d always hoped to find a job where I didn’t hate getting up in the morning, and so far, so good.”
The team is always on the lookout for the latest trends and new merchandising ideas. They recently worked with Lotterywest’s marketing team on designing their own Superdraw t-shirts, which have been a hit with customers.
“People get used to our uniforms so when we wear something different it makes customers ask questions,” she said.
