A Northampton man’s ‘rash’ decision to buy a Wednesday Lotto ticket has become a million-dollar windfall.
The man in his 70’s stopped by Northampton Newsagency and bought Slikpik 18 ticket.
“I don’t usually buy Wednesday Lotto,” he said.
“I just made a rash decision and said give me an 18 game for tomorrow.”
He didn’t check his numbers until Friday and after dashing to the newsagent to confirm his luck, he noticed a blackboard stating the store had sold a Division One ticket.
“I couldn’t sleep until the Sunday,” he said.
The local said he plans to buy a house and enjoy his retirement.
Northampton Newsagency can honestly say three times is a charm with this news marking their third Lotto win in the past three years.
The store previously had a million-dollar win in 2017, along with a $50,000 Scratch’n’Win winner in 2018, making this its third win in three years.
The next chance to win big is in next Saturday’s $20 million Superdraw on 20 June. Tickets can be purchased up until 6pm on the day of the draw in-store, online or via the app.
