Madeley family’s massive Father’s Day surprise

If you’re a father trying out some new socks or jocks today, you might want to look to this Madeley father.

Rather than settle for the side draw staples, he received a Lotterywest Gift Pack for Father’s Day full of scratchies from Kingsway City Newsagency.

One of the tickets in the pack, $5 Celebrations, ended up revealing a $75,000 prize.

“From birthday’s to Father’s Day, it’s the gift of choice,” the winner said.

“The first win was $10 and I said to my daughter wouldn’t it be nice to win $1,000.

“We ended up winning $75,000.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said attention has now turned to tomorrow night’s $10 million OZ Lotto jackpot and then Thursday’s $40 million Powerball draw.

“That’s a massive $50 million in combined jackpots up for grabs over the next few days and we’d love to see multiple Western Australian winners share in jackpot prize pool,” Ms Compagnone said.

“By simply playing with Lotterywest, you’re helping to raise funds towards our COVID-19 Relief Fund.”

“You can pick up tickets in-store, online or via the app until 6pm draw day.”

The State Government, through Lotterywest, is committing $159 million into a COVID-19 Relief Fund to respond to those in the Western Australian community who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
