Esperance ‘spur-of-the-moment’ decision leads to Scratch‘n’Win Top Prize

An Esperance woman’s impromptu decision to grab a Scratch‘n’Win ticket has guided her to a $75,000 prize.

The $5 Super Word Play ticket from Esperance Lottery Centre and Newsagency, managed to match all the words to the Top Prize.

“It was a spur-of-the-moment decision to grab a Word Play ticket,” she said.

“All these words started popping up…I got the jitters and the shakes.”

She described the win as “life changing” and said it will go towards sprucing up her home.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said 59 WA players have claimed a Scratch‘n’Win Top Prize so far in 2020.

“More than $5.1 million has been shared across Western Australian players thanks to a Scratch’n’Win Top Prize,” Ms Compagnone said.

“The next big chance for WA players to win is tomorrow’s $30 million OZ Lotto jackpot.”

“Thanks to our players, we have been able to provide $292 million back to the WA community last financial year through the Lotterywest’s grants program.”

Tickets for the $30 million OZ Lotto jackpot are available until 6pm draw day from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
