Albany woman shocks husband with $100,000 win

An Albany woman says her husband misjudged their Scratch’n’Win Top Prize by $99,000.

The woman in her 40’s purchased the $20 Regal Winnings scratchie from Spencer Park Newsagency while she was picking up her usual Wednesday Lotto ticket.

After scratching the ticket, she did a double take, not believing her eyes when discovering the $100,000 Top Prize.

“I went straight back to the store to get it checked,” she said.

“Then I called my husband and said guess how much I won, he guessed $1,000.

“We still can’t believe it.”

The couple plan to celebrate with a nice dinner and will take their family on an overseas trip.

Last financial year, Scratch’n’Win tickets delivered more than $44 million back to the WA community through Lotterywest’s grants program.

Scratch'n'Win gift packs make gift giving easy this Christmas and are available from all Lotterywest stores.
