COVID-19 Relief Fund

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government, through Lotterywest, has allocated all profits of the Lottery (up to $159 million) directly into the newly created COVID-19 Relief Fund.

This Fund will assist the Western Australian community through COVID-19 and respond to the impacts of the crisis on individual and community wellbeing through targeted and impactful community grants.

The focus is community directed and avoids duplication of Government services. Grants will remain as one-off, time limited investments.

Lotterywest’s previous Community Investment Framework, launched in 2019, is on hold while the COVID-19 Relief Fund is delivered.

We understand that needs are changing

The COVID-19 Relief Fund aims to be responsive to community needs. That’s why we’re taking a phased approach to implementation.

The first phase of the Fund prioritised addressing the immediate hardship being experienced by individuals and community organisations.

Between March 2020 and June 2020, we’re proud to have supported:

We’re now in the second phase of our COVID-19 Relief Fund

This is focussed on three grant programs and looks a little different to our usual way of working. It includes a mixture of open applications, an Expression of Interest (EOI) process, and applications by invitation.

As the needs of the Western Australian community evolve as we recover from the immediate health impacts of COVID-19, the Lotterywest COVID-19 Relief Fund will evolve too.
