Winners’ weekend for Saturday Lotto and Set for Life!

The weekend wasn’t just a time to relax; it was also a time for WA Lotto players to celebrate with three winners added to the 2016 Division 1 winners list.

The three WA winning Saturday Lotto tickets were each worth $320,223 and were sold at Woodvale Boulevard Newsagency, Gold Edge News in Bull Creek and Parry’s Newsagency in Nollamara. There were 13 Division 1 winners from across the nation.

Chris Foley, Manager of Woodvale Boulevard Newsagency, said it had been a little while since his store had last sold a Division 1 ticket so he knew their time was coming.

“It’s absolutely magic! My partner called me on Saturday night to tell me the great news and we were just delighted,” said Chris.

“We’ve got balloons and signs up to spread the word and we’re all looking forward to seeing what this week brings. Here’s hoping it’s more winners!”

Gold Edge News in Bull Creek is hoping their Division 1 winner may be one of their regular customers.

Owner of the store, Geoff Davies, said he’d started telling customers as soon as his doors opened this morning.

“I’d say luck is starting to rub off here and now that we’re on a roll we’re going to keep it up!” he said.

WA’s Division 1 winners tally is now up to 18 for the year with those winners sharing in over $15 million in prizes.

It’s not only WA’s Lotto winners who get to celebrate their win with $283 million going back to the WA community last financial year.

Groups to receive this support include the Probus Club of Fremantle WA Inc located in Bull Creek who received a $2,367 Lotterywest Grant last year towards equipment to support the club’s ongoing series of educational lectures for seniors.

Australia’s Set for Life’s 1st Prize winners soar

The weekend wasn’t only good news for WA Lotto players, the joy of winning spread throughout Australia with two Victorian players scooping 1st Prize in Set for Life on Friday and Saturday night.

The winners will now have $20,000 a month for 20 years.

This brings the national tally up to seven 1st Prize Winners since the game launched in August 2015 and follows a family from Perth’s southern suburbs who won 1st Prize in October 2015.
