Noranda produces another Lotto millionaire

Almost a year after selling their last Division 1 winning Lotto ticket, The Lucky Charm News Noranda has sold another big winner in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

At this stage the identity of the winner is unknown but they’re set to collect a $1,020,496 Division 1 prize.

Theo Popis, owner of The Lucky Charm News Noranda, said he and his staff were excited to give out more money.

Almost the same time last year, the store sold another Saturday Lotto ticket worth $845,849 followed by three Scratch’n’Win Top Prizes in May, August and October. In 2014, they sold a $1 million winning Saturday Lotto ticket and in 2013 they sold their largest winner to date, a $20 million Powerball prize.

“We keep delivering! I’ve added up the numbers and we’ve given about $25 million to our Division 1 winners over the last five or six years,” said Theo.

Theo said he believed it was due to the great customer service offered at the store, coupled with a friendly atmosphere and it being a place you can have a laugh which helps them sell big winners.

“Our postcode of 6062 is firmly on the map for giving away wins with so many in the area last year,” he said.

Only eleven days into the New Year and WA’s Division 1 winners tally has reached four. These winners have shared in over $7 million worth of prizes.

It’s not only WA’s Lotto winners who benefit following a draw, the local community benefits too with 34 cents out of every dollar spent on Lotterywest Games going back to support the WA community.

Groups to receive this support include the Mission for Improvement and Boosting Services to the Community which are located in Noranda and were given a $8,610 Lotterywest Grant last year. These funds have been used to purchase equipment which supports the wellbeing and social interaction of new migrants to WA.
