Punters have 15 million reasons to purchase a ticket in tonight’s Powerball jackpot as Lotterywest continues to search for one lucky Western Australian who is almost $700,000 richer and doesn’t know it.
The Saturday Lotto ticket was sold at Albany Lottery, News & Gifts almost two weeks ago and marks the 27th Division 1 win for WA so far this year.
Lotterywest spokeswoman Chloe Lawler said the organisation was hoping that number would climb to 28 after tonight’s draw.
“We’ve certainly been riding a wave of Lotto luck here in WA,” Ms Lawler said.
“At the moment the State is producing at least one Division 1 winner per week,” she added.
Ms Lawler said when a win for WA is confirmed the lucky player is welcomed into the organisation’s legendary winner’s room with open arms.
“It’s a once in a lifetime experience although we’ve spent a fair bit of time in there this year letting people know they’re now millionaires,” she said.
“Who knows – hopefully one lucky local will be paying us a visit after tonight’s $15 million Powerball jackpot,” she added.
Tonight’s draw is expected to raise over a million dollars for the WA community with one third of every dollar spent on Lotterywest products returned to not-for-profit organisations.
Punters have until 6pm tonight to purchase tickets for the Powerball jackpot from Lotterywest in-store, via Play Online or by downloading the app.
