Two West Aussies start 2022 as millionaires

Two Western Australians are celebrating an extra special New Year’s Eve, after taking out a share in the New Year's Eve $40 million Megadraw.

The State’s winning tickets, each worth $2,352,941, were amongst 17 from across the nation and were produced from Ballajura News and Lotterywest Online.

Lotterywest spokesperson Nikki Brown said this took the total number of 2021 Division One winners across WA to 73, sharing in over $210 million worth of prizes.

“It’s been a terrific end to the year, and we’d like to congratulate all of our 2021 winners and look forward to welcoming our Megadraw winners into the Winner’s Room in the New Year,” she said.

Ms Brown said WA’s most notable 2021 win also marked the largest win ever in the State.

“A group of 55 gym ladies in an unofficial syndicate shared in Powerball’s $80 million Division One prize earlier this month, and we also had a $30 million OZ Lotto win in February when a northern suburbs couple took home its entire Division One prize,” she said.

New Year’s resolutions will be taken up a notch with 36 Division Two prizes each worth $12,287.

The winning numbers were 32, 14, 15, 8, 43 and 20.

Thanks to those players that entered the Megadraw, over $7 million has been raised to contribute to the Lotterywest grants program.

All eyes now turn to Thursday’s Powerball $60 million jackpot, tickets are available until 6pm on draw night via Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
