Superdraw winner needed sanity check with brother

A FIFO worker can credit a last-minute decision to buy a Saturday Lotto ticket for his $1.4 million windfall.

The northern suburbs man bought his ticket from Nextra Dianella, which was one four WA based Division One winners from Saturday Lotto’s Superdraw.

“I scanned the ticket, and it told me to come to Lotterywest HQ, I thought, this could be a good one,” he said.

“I had to get my brother to check the ticket for me, I couldn’t believe it.

“I’ve been playing Lotto for ages, because even if I don’t win, the money goes back to the WA community.”

The ticketholder said the win would speed up his retirement plans, along with helping his children put down a deposit for their first home.

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said WA’s winning streak continues to roll on, thanks to Monday Lotto.

“Today we’re celebrating a Monday Lotto Division Two winner, with a ticket from Bruce Rock LPO and Lotto now worth more than $12,000,” Mr Mooney said.

“We are also waiting to hear from the owner of the Saturday Lotto Division One prize from Forum Newsagency.

“If you bought a ticket in Floreat, you might be holding onto a $1.4 million prize.”

The next chance for players to join WA’s millionaires club is this weekend’s special $10 million Saturday Lotto draw.

Tickets are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app until 6pm draw day.
