Lotterywest reveals tips ahead of $60 million Powerball jackpot

With Powerball at an incredible $60 million, Lotterywest has some helpful hints on how best to secure a ticket and be in with a chance to win.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said that Thursday’s draw was expected to sell half a million tickets in WA – equivalent to one in every four adults.

“One piece of advice is to get your tickets early to avoid the busy periods we usually see on jackpot day,” she said.

“There are also many fun ways to play, like joining a syndicate with family, friends or work colleagues, which not only helps share the cost of a ticket, but the joy of a win.”

Ms Coleman said that a 12 game Slikpik was among the most popular ticket choice for WA players, which cost less than $15, and a Powerpik ticket gave a special edge.

“A Powerpik gives you the Powerball number that you need to win a Division One prize,” she said.

“The cost of a Powerpik 7, for example, is just under $25, and gives you 20 games, each game with the winning Powerball number.”

Ms Coleman said some of the most popular suburbs selling Powerball tickets for the jackpot included Perth, Morley, Cloverdale, Mandurah and Midland, while some of the most popular Powerball numbers were 11, 2, 3, 15 and 20.

“While Powerball is a game for those who like to win a bigger amount, our most popular game is Saturday Lotto which this weekend is offering a $10 million special event,” she said.

Tomorrow’s $60 million Powerball draw and this Saturday’s $10 million special event are estimated to collectively raise almost $11.5 million for the WA community.

Tickets are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app until 6pm draw day.
