$50 million Powerball tips

With Powerball at a whopping $50 million, Lotterywest has some helpful hints on how best to secure a ticket and be in with a chance to win.

The last time Powerball jackpotted to $50 million was in February this year.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said that this draw was expected to sell 550,000 tickets in WA with 550 tickets every minute during its busiest hour between 4pm and 5pm today.

“In light of this it’s best to try and secure your ticket early, as it’s not every day we get the chance to win such a large sum of money,” she said.

“There are so many fun ways to play, like joining a Lotterywest syndicate, or an office or family syndicate, to help share the cost as well as the joy, should you be lucky enough to win.”

Ms Coleman said that Slikpiks were always a popular ticket choice among players but a Powerpik gave a special edge.

“A Powerpik gives you the Powerball number that you need to win a Division One prize,” she said.

“The cost of a Powerpik 7, for example, is just under $25, and gives you 20 games, each game with the winning Powerball number.”

Ms Coleman said some of the most popular Lotto suburbs were Perth, Morley, Cloverdale, Mandurah and Midland while some of the most popular numbers drawn over the past 12 months were 1, 17, 9, 16 and 19 and the Powerball was 19, 7, 10 and 14 .

“While Powerball is a game for those who like to win big, our most popular game of Saturday Lotto has its $20 million Superdraw Saturday this weekend so it’s a great week for WA to have some Lotto luck,” she said.

Tonight’s $50 million Powerball draw and this weekend’s $20 million Superdraw Saturday are estimated to collectively raise $7 million for the WA community.

Tickets are available from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
