A Warnbro couple were celebrating a $1,000 Saturday Lotto win, until further investigation found they misjudged their prize by more than $1 million.
The couple in their 60’s can be revealed as the owners of a $1.2 million Saturday Lotto prize sold from Warnbro News and Gifts in early April.
The winner said when checking her ticket, the retailer discreetly told her that due to the size of her prize she would need to visit Lotterywest HQ to claim it.
“I said to the retailer how do I collect my $1,000, but it turned out the prize was worth a little more than that,” she said.
“The win is still sinking in, but the first thing that comes to mind for us is to help our children.
“I’ll also be able to treat my dog to a fancy haircut now too.”
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said it’s been a great week for WA pet owners when it comes to Division One wins.
“It was only a matter of days ago when we were celebrating a winner that re-routed her shop to Pinjarra for kitty litter and ended up purchasing a Saturday Lotto ticket now worth $1.6 million.
“We now have a lucky pup set for a pamper, thanks to this Saturday Lotto win from Warnbro.”
The next chance for WA players to win is tonight’s $30 million Powerball draw.
Tickets for Thursday’s Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm on draw day in-store, online and via the Lotterywest App.
