The odds of winning vary for each game. Visit each of the games information pages to find out the odds at various prize levels, for all our games.

Overall odds are the chance of winning any of the prize divisions in lottery draw games or prize levels in a Scratch'n'Win game. Division 1 or Top Prize odds refers to your chance of winning only the Top Prize in the game played.

There’s no skill or strategy that will increase your chance of winning as the chance of winning doesn’t change. You buy just that, a chance to win, not a guarantee.

In Saturday Lotto and Millionaire Medley, you need all six Winning Numbers to win Division 1 and in OZ Lotto you need all seven Winning Numbers to win Division 1. 

Powerball is played by drawing seven balls from the first barrel of 35 and one ball from a second barrel of 20. The number drawn from the second barrel is the Powerball number and all eight numbers together deliver a Division 1 win. 

Set for Life is a game with draws every day of the week. When you win Division 1, instead of a single lump-sum payout, you get an ongoing prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years and it's guaranteed (if won) for up to four winners. Each entry lasts for seven consecutive draws and is played by drawing nine numbers from 44. The first seven numbers drawn are the Winning Numbers and the last two drawn are the Supplementary Numbers.

For some games, if there is no Division 1 winner for a draw the provisional prize pool is rolled over to the next game, increasing the jackpot. Saturday Lotto, OZ Lotto, Powerball and Super66 are all examples of such jackpotting games.

Millionaire Medley's Cashcade events guarantee Division 2-6 winners share an extra $1 million... on top of their usual prize!

Double Win Day is a special event for Millionaire Medley. If you win a prize in Divisions 2-6, it will automatically be doubled!

During the year OZ Lotto has special Prize Boost events which will boost the amount players win in a normal draw. The boost will apply to Division 2 to 7 (excludes Division 1) and will happen regardless whether Division 1 is won or not.

OZ Lotto's Prize Boost amount will vary from event to event, winners get the standard prize money on offer for their division, but a Prize Boost on top of this!

Lottery games and Scratch'n'Win are all games of chance. This means that when you play, there are certain chances ('odds') that you will win on any single game. Whether you win or not is unpredictable, and not something you can control in any way.

Each line of Lotto numbers has an identical chance of winning. The only way to improve your odds is to buy more entries. An affordable way to do this is to play in a syndicate so that you split the cost with others and boost your odds at the same time.

No - all that matters is the odds of winning the game, and how many lines are purchased.

The lower the number the more improved the odds are, so the game with 1 in 4 odds has a better chance of winning any prize than the game with 1 in 6 odds.

In lottery games, Winning Numbers are selected at random and there is no way to predict what numbers will come up. So as numbers are random:
• It doesn’t matter if you have a favourite number or have used the same set of numbers for years.
• The odds stay the same whether you choose your own numbers or select a Slikpik.
• There’s no skill or strategy that will increase your chance of winning.
• You buy a chance to win. Not a guarantee.
• Each number has an equal chance of being drawn.

Scratch'n'Win

  • $1 and $2 games are fun, easy and quick to play - great if you've only got a few spare moments to try your luck at cash prizes up to $20,000.
  • $3 games take a little longer, like our ever-popular Word Play ticket. Simply scratch to reveal each letter, then match that letter wherever it appears in the Word Play panel(s) to make three or more complete words.
  • $5 games offer a wide variety of game styles, all with the chance to win up to $100,000 cash. Our light gaming style tickets (such as Roulette, Poker and Blackjack) offer great returns and a bit of a challenge. Our "time out" $5 Word Play offers the same great mechanic as the popular $3 Word Play with even more play value. In addition to these, other multiple-panel games are on offer at various times throughout the year to offer a fun and easy play mechanic with great cash prizes to be won.
  • $10 games offer fantastic value with great odds, high prize payouts and the biggest top prize offering of up to $300,000.
  • $20 games are our premium tickets and are packed with play value. These games are simple to play, offer a large prize pool, have great odds of winning and multiple top prizes.

For some Scratch'n'Win games you need to match three dollar amounts or symbols in each game panel. Other games have a lucky number mechanic where you require only one number match to win. There are also Word Play and Bingo as well as many other different games. Make sure you read the play instructions carefully to check the rules for each game.

If you’re not sure if your ticket is a winner, you can check it using the ticket checker at any Lotterywest store, or ask your local retailer to check the ticket for you. They’ll scan the ticket barcode on the terminal, which will instantly advise if your ticket is a winner. If the retailer doesn’t have a terminal they can ring Lotterywest to verify your win.

All Scratch’n’Win tickets are computer generated and printed under strict security conditions. Each ticket in each game is unique. The printing process ensures that no ticket can be tampered with, altered or mistreated in any way to reveal the game underneath. The latex is also designed to disintegrate on scratching to retain the integrity of each ticket.

Prizes may be claimed in all Scratch'n'Win games for up to 12 months from the date the last book of tickets was issued from Lotterywest for sale. Prizes may not be claimed after the expiry date. In accordance with the Lotteries Commission Act any unclaimed prize money is distributed to WA community organisations via Lotterywest’s Direct Grants Program.

No, Scratch'n'Win tickets are not able to be purchased online. Find your nearest Lotterywest store to purchase a ticket.

Imagine a game with 1 in 4 odds has 4 million tickets - 1 million of those will be winners. Imagine putting all 4 million tickets into a giant bag and shaking them so they mix up randomly. The odds of winning will be 1 in 4, but that doesn’t mean if you reach into the bag 4 times then you’ll be guaranteed to pull out a winning ticket. It's the same with the Scratch'n'Win tickets that you buy - they are printed and randomly sent out to Lotterywest retailers across Western Australia, so your chance of winning for each ticket is 1 in 4 across all tickets sold in WA.

Syndicates

Buy a share in-store

Visit a Lotterywest store to buy a share in a syndicate. Simply ask what shares are available for the game you want to play or how much you would like to spend. If you have a Lotterywest membership, make sure you register your ticket against it so your winnings are automatically paid out to it.

Create your own

You can create your own syndicate with friends and family. Start by downloading the Syndicate Planner and select the game and ticket options you want to play. Then you're ready to visit your local Lotterywest store and fill in a playslip or ask for a Slikpik. Ask the retailer to print a valid share ticket for each syndicate member. This gives each person the peace of mind and convenience to claim their share of prizes on winning entries themselves. You can read more about syndicates here.

  • The syndicate planner makes keeping your records easy.
  • All syndicates need at least five shares at a minimum cost of $5 each. This means all syndicates have a minimum total cost of $25.
  • Syndicates are a great way to try Systems – you’ll get more chances per draw while sharing the cost of the ticket amongst all players.

Systems

Fewer numbers

Increase your chances of winning a prize by reducing how many Winning Numbers you need to have on your ticket. For example, a System 4 Saturday Lotto ticket will only require the four numbers on your ticket to be chosen as Winning Numbers in order to win Division 1. The other two numbers are guaranteed with this ticket type.

More numbers

Increase your chances of winning a prize by getting more numbers in each game.

A System entry allows you to play up to 20 of your selected numbers, and every possible combination of those numbers. For example, select six numbers to play a System 6 entry, select 18 numbers to play a System 18, and so on. You can choose your own numbers on a playslip or ask for a Slikpik.

Here’s an example of how System entries work by using a System 8 Saturday Lotto entry:

  • Select any eight numbers between 1 and 45, for example: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
  • Your System 8 entry will contain 28 games, each with six number combinations of your selected eight numbers.
  • Your ticket will only display your eight chosen numbers, however your entry actually has 28 games.
  • Winning System entries pay multiple prizes because each game contains a similar pattern of numbers. For example, if the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 are among the Saturday Lotto Winning Numbers, games 1 to 6 would each be eligible for a prize.

Tip

Joining a syndicate is a great way to play Systems! A syndicate is a group of lottery players who share the cost of a Lotto ticket to play more games and increase the chances of winning.

• Log in to your Lotterywest membership to choose your own numbers or request a Systems Slikpik.

With fewer numbers System entries, your selection of numbers is then combined with all remaining numbers (1 to 47) to create every possible seven digit combination containing your selected numbers. More numbers System entries use your selection of numbers to create every possible seven digit combination containing your selected numbers.

  • Mark the System number you wish to play on a Powerball Playslip. Then mark the Pick 7 section of the game board with the appropriate number of numbers for the System (8 numbers for System 8). Mark one number in the Pick 1 section for the Powerball number.
  • Ask for a Powerball System Slikpik in-store and a ticket will be issued with randomly generated numbers for you.
  • Log in to your Lotterywest membership to choose your own numbers or request a Systems Slikpik.

With fewer numbers System entries, your selection of numbers is then combined with all remaining numbers (1 to 35) to create every possible seven digit combination (plus your Powerball selection) containing your selected numbers.

A Powerpik System entry contains all 20 numbers for the Powerball so you only need to match the seven Winning Numbers drawn from barrel A. Powerpik System entries are available for Systems 5 and 6 and Systems 8 to 14.

To buy a Powerpik System:

  • Mark the Systems number you wish to play on a Powerball playslip. Then mark the Pick 7 section of the game board with the appropriate number of numbers for the System. Mark the POWERPIK box. Leave the Pick 1 section of the game board blank
  • Ask for a Powerpik System Slikpik in-store and a ticket will be issued with randomly generated numbers for you
  • Log in to your Lotterywest membership to choose your own numbers or request a Systems Slikpik

Systems are no longer available for Set for Life.

With a System ticket you can win multiple prizes with a single entry. For example, let's say you purchase a Saturday Lotto System 7 entry containing seven numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.

The Winning Numbers drawn are 1, 2, 3, 10, 11 and 12 and the two Supplementary Numbers are 6 and 7.

You will be able to match three Winning Numbers and two Supplementary Numbers. If you were to write out every combination of the seven games a System 7 entry gives you, you'd find that you have won four Division 5 prizes.

Combo packs

Combo Packs are available exclusively in-store and are an easy way to play most of your favourite games throughout the week. Choose the option suited to your budget and your retailer will print a ticket for each game included in your chosen Combo Pack and give you all the tickets. Make sure you have all the games before you leave the store!

  • All tickets are Slikpik entries so there's no need to fill in a playslip
  • You get to play your favourite games throughout the week
  • You can 'ticket repeat' some or all of your Combo Pack tickets
  • They are a great gift idea

Each Combo Pack is made up of different games and number of draws. Ask in-store to see which games are in the different Combo Pack options.

The combination of games in a Combo Pack is fixed. If the combination contains a game that you do not wish to play, you may like to purchase the games separately instead.

All Combo Pack tickets are Slikpik entries so there’s no need to fill in a playslip.

Combo Packs can be purchased any day of the week. The pack will include a ticket in every game included in the pack for the seven days from the day of purchase.

As each Combo Pack contains a separate ticket for each game so you can claim your prize the day following that draw. Simply take your ticket in-store and remember to hold on to the remaining tickets in your pack until all the draws are complete.

The cost of each game is the same in the Combo Packs as they would be if you bought them separately; we've just packaged them up for your convenience.

Unfortunately not but you are able to purchase a Combo Pack and choose to start any day within the next seven days of your purchase.

Unfortunately, syndicate options are not available for Combo Packs.

Yes, you can register your tickets using your Lotterywest membership.

Powerball update

While we are making some changes to Powerball. Some of your usual Advance Play and Multiweek tickets will be temporarily unavailable from 6:01pm Thursday 28 August to 6:00pm Thursday 30 October 2025. Refer to the suppressions calendar.

While we are making some changes to Powerball, Combo Packs will be temporarily unavailable from 6:01pm Thursday 16 October to 6:00am Friday 31 October.

Lotterywest membership

General

To register as a Lotterywest member all you need is an email address and some documents to help us verify your identity. We use a third party identity verification service provider that validates your identity against various databases such as WA driver's licence, White Pages, WA Electoral Roll, Medicare and Australian passport records. This service is completely secure and helps us confirm you to be aged above 16 years and a resident in WA.

No. In the ‘Terms and conditions’ you accept when you register for your Lotterywest membership, you agree to not share your account details, password and/or PIN with anyone.

When you register for a Lotterywest membership you can choose whether you want to receive information about jackpots, Superdraws and promotions by leaving the appropriate box ticked. If you leave this box ticked you will occasionally receive emails from Lotterywest about these events. If you clear this box you will only receive emails related to your account activity. You can change this option at any time by clicking 'My account' when accessing your Lotterywest membership via the Lotterywest website.

Yes, you must be 16 years or older to play (and be able to prove your age at registration).

You must have a Western Australian residential address to register for the Lotterywest membership. PO Boxes are not accepted as a residential address.

By law we are required to verify the identity of players registering for a Lotterywest membership. Proof of identity is required to ensure all players meet these criteria.

Identity verification is the process of checking a player’s personal details against a set of data sources such as the White Pages, WA Electoral Roll and WA Driver's licence databases. This is done to ensure players identities and that the age and address requirements of becoming a registered player are met.

This process is carried out by a Third Party Identity Verification Service Provider. Registering and verifying your identity online is completely secure.

The details you provide to us are shared with our secure Third Party Identity Verification Service Provider for the purpose of verifying your identity. The personal details in your account will be kept secure and used to contact you about your account if it is necessary. You will not be sent promotional emails unless you opt to receive them.

Lotterywest similar to many other Government organisations such as Medicare and the ATO has replaced cheque payments with EFT. For Lotterywest members, that means you’ll need to provide us with your bank account details. To arrange this, all you need to do is complete this change of financial details form. Please rest assured your details will be kept confidential and secure. Once we receive your information we will update your account as soon as possible.

To ensure that our customer data is continually reviewed and updated, PRS cards that have not been used since 2017 have been blocked and will be phased out starting from the end of October 2022. We can help you upgrade to the current Lotterywest membership to enjoy the same benefits with additional features now and send you out a new card so you can start playing shortly.

You can also upgrade yourself for free on our website under ‘Membership’ > ‘Your Membership’ > ‘Upgrade’.

No, you can no longer use your PRS card as we’re phasing out any cards that haven’t been used in the last five years. The good news is we can upgrade you to the Lotterywest membership and send you out a new card so you can start playing shortly. In the meantime, you can still buy unregistered tickets. You’ll just need to keep them safe.

We’re offering a new and improved Lotterywest membership with more benefits and rewards to our players. Player Registration Service (PRS) cards that haven’t been used since 2017 will start to be phased out in October 2022.

You can choose your own numbers to play when purchasing Lotterywest tickets – these are your “Favourite numbers”. You can save up to 20 sets of favourite numbers per game* to your Lotterywest membership. When you buy a ticket online, you have the option to play your Favourite numbers by selecting ‘My Favourites’ before confirming your purchase. When buying a ticket in-store, please inform the retailer that you want to play a saved Favourite, the name of that favourite and for which game prior to purchase.

It takes around three weeks for your membership card to arrive. You can use your virtual card on the Lotterywest App or online immediately after upgrading.

Some basics to get you started

To register you’ll need a valid email address, a computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet or iPad and an internet connection. You'll also need a form of identity e.g. a WA Drivers Licence, confirming your age and WA residency.

You can get a free email address in a few simple steps from one of the email service providers linked below, or you can choose another preferred provider. Alternatively, talk to your internet service provider like Telstra, Optus or iiNet.

You’ll need proof of identity like a WA Drivers licence so Lotterywest can confirm you are a WA resident and over 16 years old. These are both legal requirements for playing lottery games in WA.

WiFi is the ‘connection without wires’ that is made in your home between devices such as laptops, computers, smartphones and iPads or tablets and the modem or router provided by your internet service provider.

You can purchase tickets for all games, except for some syndicates and Scratch'n'Win tickets which are only available in retail stores.

No. When you play online your purchases are stored in your member account as virtual tickets.

When you become a member we create an e-wallet for your membership account. You can deposit funds to your e-wallet and any prize winnings will be automatically transferred here by Lotterywest.

Playing online

General

You can access your Lotterywest membership online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Prize payments may be delayed during public holidays. Draws close at varying times depending on the game and the time of year. See the games section for more information. Online entries will be disabled one minute prior to draw close for each game and draw.

No. All tickets cost the same regardless of whether you purchase online or from a Lotterywest retailer.

Whether you purchase in-store or online, approximately one third of every dollar goes back to the WA community through health, sports, arts, charitable and community organisations. About 60 cents in every dollar goes to player prizes. Less than 10 cents in every dollar is used for Lotterywest's operating expenses.

No. After you have confirmed your online entry, there is no facility for you to cancel your own entry. When purchasing entries online you will be prompted to confirm your purchase prior to finalising each transaction. When you are in the ‘Confirm your purchase’ screen, check that you have the correct details before you click ‘Purchase’.

Your Lotterywest membership allows you to save your own numbers so you don't have to choose them every time you play.

If you’re playing via the Lotterywest Website:

  • To save an entry as a favourite, select the game and then ‘Create a new entry’. Create your entry and then tick ‘Save as favourite’, name your favourite numbers and then purchase your entry.
  • You can play a favourite either by going to the ‘Favourites’ screen, selecting the favourite and clicking ‘Purchase’ or by selecting the game you want to play, clicking ‘Play favourite’ and choosing the favourite to play. Complete your purchase by following the prompts on screen
  • You can delete and rename your favourites in the ‘Favourites’ screen.

If you’re playing via the Lotterywest App:

  • To save an entry as a favourite, go to ‘My favourites’, click on the ‘+’ button at the top right corner of the screen and create your favourite by following the prompts on screen. Favourite Games will only be saved locally to the device you are accessing the Lotterywest App through.
  • To play a favourite, go to ‘My favourites’ and click the play button of the favourite you want to play. Complete your purchase by following the prompts on screen.
  • You can delete and rename your favourites in the ‘My favourites’ screen.

If you have favourite numbers registered to your Lotterywest Play Online account and want to transfer them to another game, you can do this via your Lotterywest Play Online account. You need to log in to your account, navigate to the My favourites tab and click on Add favourite.Tip: take a screenshot or write your favourite numbers down somewhere so that you can remember them.

You can find information in the games section of our website and in our Lotterywest App when you select draw results, then the specific game.

Lotterywest has set a maximum spend limit of $500 per week to promote responsible play, however you should only spend what you can afford. You can also reduce your own spending limit to ensure you do not exceed your budget. Visit our Play Responsibly page for more information.

You must have a current Western Australian residential address to be a Lotterywest member and purchase tickets online. If you are temporarily located outside of Western Australia you need to check if the laws in that region allow you to purchase lottery tickets online.

To check your entries, go to ‘Check entries’ (‘Check my tickets’ via the Lotterywest App).

You’ll be able to view details and see the status of entries you have purchased and prizes you have won.

At the time of purchasing your online entry, click on ‘print a copy’ to print out the entry.

To view your purchase history, go to ‘My e-wallet’ (‘Manage my e-wallet’ via the Lotterywest App) and click on ‘Transaction history’.

To view your winnings history, go to ‘Check entries’ (‘Check my tickets’ via the Lotterywest App).

You’ll be able to view details and see the status of entries you have purchased and prizes you have won.

Select 'Logout' from the top of the screen.

Unless you have confirmed your purchase by clicking ‘Buy Now’ before the disconnection, the transaction will not have been completed. You can confirm by clicking on the ‘Check entries’ link to see if your latest purchase has appeared.

Online lottery business provider, Jumbo Interactive Limited are operating an online platform (oz.lotterywest.com) for existing Jumbo WA online players on behalf of Lotterywest. oz.lotterywest.com will offer existing Jumbo WA online players an experience they are used to, featuring Lotterywest branding elements and aligned with Lotterywest Responsible Gambling practices.

oz.lotterywest.com entries close prior to the official draw close time so that Lotterywest can ensure that all valid entries are included in the draw.

These games are not currently part of the ozlotteries.com offering, however we will explore opportunities to include these games in 2021. In the meantime, you can purchase these games as a registered member on lotterywest.wa.gov.au

Your playing experience in-store or on lotterywest.wa.gov.au won’t be affected. These changes apply to Western Australians who were previously playing Lotto with Oz Lotteries.

Yes, you can have an account on both Lotterywest Play Online as well as oz.lotterywest.com. Your account details and player history will be kept separate.

We launched a new Play Online platform that will enhance your user experience, mobile responsiveness and improve online security. While the look and feel is a bit different, your account details and how you play our games remain the same.

Your account information is still valid, you can continue to login using your email, or username, and password.

The new channel should operate successfully using a version of the one of the following browsers that has been released within the last two years:

  • Chrome
  • Edge
  • Safari
  • Samsung Internet

Edit details

You can edit your contact details under My Account via the Lotterywest website or App.

To change your financial details, go to ‘Edit details’ (‘Edit my account’ via the Lotterywest App), click on ‘Financial’ and follow the prompts.

To close your account, go to ‘Edit details’ (‘Edit my account’ via the Lotterywest App), click on ‘Close account’ and follow the prompts.

You can close your account at any time, as long as all lottery draws in which you have purchased an entry have taken place and your account balance is reduced to zero ($0.00).

There are restrictions on withdrawing balances from a credit card deposit. Please contact us to assist you further.

Your funds

To change your weekly spending limit, go to ‘Edit details’ (‘Edit my account’ via the Lotterywest App), click on ‘Personal limit’ and follow the prompts.

You can change your weekly spending limit at any time, but it must remain under the $500 Lotterywest limit.

You can use a joint account as long as you are one of the named account holders.

You can deposit between $10 and $500 at a time into your e-wallet. There is no daily or weekly limit – the limit only applies to individual transfers. However your e-wallet can only contain a maximum of $5,000. Once your e-wallet balance reaches $5,000, you will not be able to purchase entries until you withdraw funds and reduce your e-wallet balance below $5,000.

Whether you're topping up your account or looking to buy a ticket straight away, there are several ways you can securely transfer funds into your e-wallet. You can deposit funds via credit card (*fees may apply, instant transfer), debit card ($0, instant transfer) or PayPal.

Please note: *Some banks charge a small fee for transactions and some credit card providers charge a cash advance fee for lottery transactions. Contact your financial institution for details on how they charge for different payment methods. The minimum deposit is $10 and the maximum deposit is $500. The maximum amount of funds that can be held in your e-wallet is $5,000. If your e-wallet balance exceeds $5,000 you will not be able to play until your balance has been reduced to $5,000 or less. Funds transferred into your e-wallet via credit card can not be withdrawn.

This depends on the financial institution. Some financial institutions may treat a transfer by credit card as a cash advance. Interest and fees would then be charged from the time of transfer. In addition, some credit card issuers may not allow funds transfers to a lottery website. Check with your financial institution for more information.

The security code (often referred to as the 'CVV' - credit card validation value) is found on the back of your VISA or Mastercard credit card. Where the three digit security code is not shown on its own, it is normally the last 3 digits on the back of your credit card.

To complete your funds deposit transaction, simply enter the three digit security code from the back of the credit card that you are using. This code is used as additional security for your credit card transaction.

Usually a transfer from your credit card will appear immediately. A BPAY® transfer can take from one to three working days.

You can withdraw funds from your e-wallet that you have won or deposited via BPAY®. The funds withdrawn will be transferred into your nominated financial account.

You cannot withdraw funds that you have transferred to your account from your debit/credit card or PayPal.

Any funds withdrawn from your e-wallet and deposited into your nominated financial account will take one to three working days to appear.

Click on the My e-wallet page, select the deposit button and enter the amount you wish to deposit to your account. Select the ‘PayPal’ payment method and login with your PayPal account details (you will be directed to the PayPal browser to log-in) and click Pay Now. After your first PayPal transaction, you will be able to view your linked PayPal email address on the deposit page.

You can only link one PayPal account to your Lotterywest Player ID. If you wish to change the PayPal account that you have already linked to your e-wallet, please contact Customer Services on 133 777 or email hello@lotterywest.wa.gov.au and they will be able to action this for you during business hours.

To request a refund for funds deposited to your e-wallet via PayPal, please contact our Customer Services team on 133 777 or email hello@lotterywest.wa.gov.au. Refunds will be issued within 3 business days. The time limit for a refund to be requested is within 180 days of the transaction occurring.

Security

Purchasing through the Lotterywest website or app is safe and secure, however internet scams do exist. If you receive an email that sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Unauthorised overseas operators send mail and emails to people throughout the world claiming to be Lotterywest. These scams often claim the recipient has won a large prize and should send further details or money (sometimes called a handling fee) for the prize to be paid. Lotterywest does not charge any handling fees for prize payouts.

We will never ask you for your password or financial institution details via email. If you want to check if a message you have received is from Lotterywest please email or call us.

You can reset your PIN by selecting ‘Log in’, then ‘Reset my PIN’. You will need to enter in your email and password to set up a PIN.

If you enter your PIN incorrectly five times, you will be prompted to set up a new one.

You can change your PIN by selecting ‘Log in’, then ‘Reset my PIN’. You will need to enter in your email and password to set up a PIN.

Your account will be locked if you enter your password incorrectly five times. You can reset your password by clicking on the ‘Forgotten your password?’ link. You will need to correctly answer your security question before a temporary password is emailed to you. When you log back in you will be prompted to create a new password.

The security and safety of your Lotterywest membership account is a top priority for Lotterywest. It is also important that you protect yourself from possible fraudulent activity.

Lotterywest has processes in place that ensure your identity and financial details are secure. We use an Extended Validation Certificate (EV), an X.509 public key certificate issued according to a specific set of identity verification criteria to secure your online transactions with us.

To obtain an EV, Lotterywest underwent extensive verification by the Certificate Authority (CA). The EV signifies that Lotterywest has passed an identity authentication process. Lotterywest has been issued an Extended Validation Certificate by a CA under the EV guidelines, and with a CA-specific policy identifier so that EV-aware software can recognise the certificate.

The EV will trigger your browser address to display a green bar that when clicked on will display Lotterywest's company name and address (the organisation that owns this website). This signifies that you are dealing with Lotterywest. You can click on this bar to display a message box which confirms that Lotterywest is 'Identified by Thawte', the certificate authority that issued this EV Certificate. A padlock should appear in this message box. This confirms that your connection to our site is encrypted and secure.

All credit card transactions are processed by BPOINT via the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, which means Lotterywest will not access your card details or retain them as part of their operating system.

Please contact us as soon as possible. One of our team members will be able to help you reset your password to secure your account.

We recommend checking your account regularly to ensure you are aware of all activity on your account.

  • Go to ‘Edit details’ (‘Edit my account’ via the Lotterywest App) and check that all your contact and financial details are correct
  • Change your password and/or PIN
  • Contact us if you have any questions or concerns
  • Avoid using computers or mobile devices that are shared or at public places to undertake any online transactions. If you need to use these facilities, ensure that no one can see you enter your personal details.
  • Make sure you log off every time you have finished using your Lotterywest membership online, especially if using a public or shared computer or mobile device. You will be automatically logged out after 15 minutes of inactivity, however we recommend you log off as soon as you have completed your session.
  • Check your transaction history to ensure only transactions that you have authorised appear.
  • Never leave your computer, mobile or tablet unattended while logged into your Lotterywest membership online.
  • Keep your password and/or PIN details safe at all times. Treat them the same way you would your financial institution (e.g., bank) PIN or internet banking log in details.
  • Always ensure that you have the latest anti-virus software update on your computer and a personal firewall in place and functioning.
  • Never click on a link in an email that asks for your Lotterywest membership log in details. Lotterywest will only send you emails from our domain lotterywest.wa.gov.au. Lotterywest will never ask for your password and/or PIN via email.
  • Regularly check your account details and change your password and/or PIN frequently
  • Always type the address of the Lotterywest home page www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au directly into your browser to log in, rather than clicking on a link.
  • If you receive an email regarding anything to do with Lotterywest that looks suspicious, please contact us and let us know the details.
  • Use a password and/or PIN that is difficult for anyone else to guess, such as a password that contains both upper- and lower-case letters, numbers and special characters. 
  • Keep your password and/or PIN secure and do not disclose them to anyone. Lotterywest will never ask you for your password or PIN.
  • Change your password and/or PIN if you think anyone may have seen it or knows it
  • Do not use your date of birth, address, telephone number or easily guessed combinations (e.g., abcd 123).
  • Log out of your account when you have completed your session.

a) A brief description of the security vulnerability identified;

b) When and how the security vulnerability was identified;

c) The system(s) affected, including the website, domain, IP or page where the security vulnerability was found;

d) The names of any files that were uploaded to Lotterywest systems;

e) The names of any test accounts you have created (where applicable);

f) Any suggestions you have on how to address the security vulnerability;

g) Your contact details, which we will keep confidential (unless otherwise required by law or regulator); and

h) Any other relevant information.

Lotterywest App

The following list are supported devices for the Lotterywest App:

  • All phones and tablets running Android 6 or greater
  • Apple iPhone or iPad running iOS 13 or greater

To help improve your experience we regularly make changes to our app which means you will need to upgrade to the latest version. If you have automatic updates enabled, then the Lotterywest app will automatically update every time a new version is available. If not, you will be prompted to download the new version the next time you attempt to open the app. You can find out more about this process here.

To purchase tickets through the Lotterywest App, you will need to be a Lotterywest member. Learn more about becoming a Lotterywest member here.

If you're already a member and are unable to purchase lottery products, please contact us.

Players using the Lotterywest App on an Apple device must have their location services turned on and be in Australia when accessing the App. If you are outside of Australia you will still be able to purchase tickets through the Lotterywest website if the laws in that region allow you to use purchase lottery tickets online.

The app should prompt you to turn your location services on when you first try to purchase a ticket. If you need to turn it on manually you can follow these simple steps:

  • Step 1: Go to Settings
  • Step 2: Select Privacy
  • Step 3: Select Location Services and make sure it is turned on
  • Step 4: Scroll though the list of your installed apps till you find the Lotterywest App and select it
  • Step 5: Select “While Using the App”ou may need to restart the Lotterywest App for these changes to take effect.

Visit the Apple Store and follow the prompts to download the free Lotterywest App. Alternatively you can go directly to the Apple Store on your mobile device and search ‘Lotterywest App’. Select the ‘Get’ button which will download and install the App onto your Apple device.

To uninstall the Lotterywest App, hold down on the app icon until an X appears in the corner. Select the X and the app will be removed from your device. This will not close your Lotterywest membership.

Select ‘Logout’ from the menu which swipes out from the left side of the screen.

To turn off Lotterywest App notifications, go to ‘Notifications’ and follow the prompts. The toggle will be grey when notifications are turned off.

If you would like to turn on Lotterywest App notifications at a later time, you may need to update your permissions.

For iOS devices navigate to your Settings menu, click on Notifications, then locate Play Online (the Lotterywest App). From here you can swipe the toggle button to turn notifications on. After you’ve selected this, open the Lotterywest App and then choose the Notifications option in the menu to be able to select the notifications and game reminders of your choice.

For Android devices, you should be able to choose your notifications directly through the Lotterywest App. However if this does not work, open your Settings menu, then Sound and Notification, and then App Notifications. Find Play Online (the Lotterywest App) and check that ‘Block all’ is not enabled.

Results and winning

Make life easy by subscribing to receive draw results by email. You can choose the games you’re interested in, and then we’ll make sure you automatically receive results after each draw.

To receive Lotterywest emails to a different email address, unsubscribe your current email address by clicking the “unsubscribe” link on the bottom of any Lotterywest communication. Then simply visit our subscribe page to re-subscribe using your new email address.

If you are a Lotterywest member, you can update your email address directly by logging in and editing your account details.

Current and past results are available instantly at your fingertips, wherever you go. To download the app, visit the Apple App store for iOS devices or Google Play for Android. The app even checks tickets you’ve bought online and highlights the winning numbers so you know if you’re a winner!

We have an agreement with Channel Seven and GWN7 to televise the winning numbers in WA at approximately 6.40pm on Seven and 7 Live. No. Only tickets purchased at a Lotterywest retail outlet can be checked at an outlet. Winnings from your tickets purchased online will be credited to your e-wallet. To check your entry, go to ‘Check entries’ (‘Check my tickets’ via the Lotterywest App).

Prizes up to and including $500 can be collected from any Lotterywest store if you have purchased a physical ticket. For online or app purchases, your winnings will be paid directly into your e-wallet or nominated financial account. Read more on our Collecting Your Prize page.

For physical ticket purchases, these winnings can be claimed at Lotterywest Head Office during office hours. Lotterywest can pay up to $2,000 via EFTPOS. Top Prizes must be claimed at Lotterywest Head Office during office hours. All Division 1 prizes are subject to a 14 day validation period. To claim a Division 1 prize, you must present at Lotterywest Head Office within 12 months* of the draw. If there are more than four Set for Life Division 1 winners, $80,000 a month for 20 years will be divided equally among them (e.g. five winners will each receive $16,000 a month for 20 years).

If there are more than four Set for Life Division 2 winners, $20,000 a month for 12 months will be divided equally among them (e.g. five winners will each receive $4,000 a month for 12 months).

Yes. We suggest speaking to your Retail Relationship Officer who can provide you with a Sale of Business pack which details the Lotterywest process and requirements. You can also contact our Customer Services team on 133 777.

We aim to complete the sale of business process from receipt of compliant application forms from both the buyer and seller to buyer interview stage within 20 Business Days.

For Buyers to be able to continue trading as a Lotterywest retailer post-settlement their application to become a Lotterywest retailer will need to be fully approved by Lotterywest.

Commission rates vary by product, ranging between 7% and 12%. Detailed commission payable by product is available in our Retail Manual (section 5).

Lease arrangements must be negotiated and agreed between the retailer (or their representative) and the shopping centre landlord or leasing agent. Lotterywest will not enter into lease negotiations for, or on your behalf. We recommend contacting a lease negotiator or reaching out to the Small Business Development Corporation.

Our fees and charges are updated every financial year; please check the Retail Manual (section 5).

We operate a direct debit banking process (bank sweep) to settle amounts due for the weekly direct debit. More information is available in our Retail Manual (section 4).

Maintaining the retail image helps identify you as a retailer, attract customers to your store, inform them about our products and as a result, optimise your sales and strengthen brand recognition. You can find out more under section 3 in the Retail Manual.

Having a high standard in your retail image will help you optimise sales and improve the in-store customer experience.

Lotterywest helps retailers to maintain Retail Presentation Standards by assessing outlets against key elements which include displaying current point of sale through to ensuring that all Lotterywest equipment is functioning correctly.

The Lotterywest Retail Relationship and Retail Image Teams support retailers with the presentation and maintenance of their outlet by providing advice and guidance and where necessary replacement shopfit items.

The terms and conditions of approval and appointment as a Lotterywest retailer are outlined in the below documents which together form the Lotterywest Agreement:

  • The letter of offer and The Schedule (these are issued to successful applicants following Lotterywest approval)
  • The Agreement Terms and Conditions detail the terms and conditions for retailers
  • The Guarantee and Indemnity Agreement Terms and Conditions outline the obligations of the guarantor(s) where the legal entity comprises of a company or companies.
  • The Retail Manual details current operating procedures, business management, customer service and retail presentation standards that retailers are required to comply with.

The Retailer agreement permits the Retailer to sell lottery products from an approved Lottery Outlet in the approved location. Existing Retailers who wish to relocate their Lottery Outlet must submit a request to Lotterywest for approval. The Retailer agreement permits the Retailer to sell lottery products from the approved Lottery Area in the Lottery Outlet in the approved location. Existing Retailers who wish to relocate the approved Lottery area within their current business must submit a request to Lotterywest for approval. Yes, you will need to request approval from Lotterywest for a temporary relocation. Please contact your Retail Relationship Officer or Customer Services on 133 777 to discuss.

If you are purchasing a business with an existing Lotterywest outlet and are considering moving the Lottery counter and/ or the business location then you will need to seek approval from Lotterywest. Please contact Customer Services on 133 777 to discuss.

Retailer network planning

To become a Lotterywest retailer you can either purchase an existing business or apply by expression of interest for a new outlet at any of the advertised locations. To read more on how to apply to become a Lotterywest retailer and to see the list of available locations, click here.

Through an internal review process, Lotterywest identifies locations that have the potential to support a new Lotterywest outlet.

These locations are advertised to our retail network and the broader public to express their interest. Lotterywest assess applications through a competitive process by us, considering the most suitable combination of location, business type and business owner, before appointing the successful applicant.

Lotterywest does not give retailers any territorial exclusivity in relation to the sale of lottery products and has full discretion in relation to the number and location of lottery outlets.

The application process will support you to showcase your skills, knowledge, and experience and demonstrate why you are a great fit for Lotterywest.

Lotterywest’s retail distribution is primarily through small businesses, however, we will consider medium or large businesses. Our preferred business types include:

  • Newsagencies
  • Lottery Kiosks
  • Independent and privately owned small to medium supermarkets
  • Pharmacies
  • Convenience stores (including delis)
  • Post offices
  • Other business types depending on the location.

We won’t consider applications for the following business types:

  • Liquor stores
  • Adult shops
  • Hospitality venues where alcohol is served
  • Drug paraphernalia stores.

We use expressions of interest to ensure our selection process is fair, competitive and transparent, so we appoint the most suitable application.

Lotterywest will identify locations suitable for a new outlet on a quarterly basis. These locations will be listed on our website and be open for applicants to express their interest.

If the location is deemed suitable, you will be able to apply through our EOI process in due course. For more information, read our EOI Information Pack.

New outlets will be advertised every 3-4 months on the Lotterywest website. You can also subscribe here to receive an email once new locations are posted.

The process of appointing a new Lotterywest outlet and business owners takes around 66* business days from the application open date to the final communication of the outcome. Please allow this amount of time when submitting your application.

*This process may be longer if a decision review request is received.

Grants

Applying for a grant

You are an eligible organisation if you’re:

  • a not-for-profit organisation (i.e. none of the profits go to owners or shareholders); or
  • a local government authority.

Smaller not-for-profits may prefer to be auspiced by an eligible organisation. Contact us for more information if you are considering this approach.

Your organisation also needs to:

  • be an Australian entity and operating within Western Australia;
  • not be operating on behalf of the State or Federal Government;
  • have the authority to undertake the proposed grant activities; or
  • have an organisational structure that does not allow for the distribution of profit or personal gain during operation and/or in the event of wind up.

Lotterywest can support initiatives with outcomes that link to the Community Investment Framework. The initiative must also result in public benefit for the WA community.

Grants can be used to support income-generating activities if they are working towards an outcome in the Community Investment Framework and have a clear public benefit.

There are a few constraints to what we support. These include:

  • Initiatives outside Western Australia
  • Retrospective, contingency or on-going operational costs
  • Religious activities (although welfare and community service activities of faith-based groups can be funded)
  • General or competitive activities of sporting clubs or codes
  • Initiatives that are core business of other government agencies
  • Permanent capital works structure on Crown land (unless a secure long-term lease or equivalent is provided to an eligible entity)
  • Construction projects that are not ‘shovel ready’ at the time the grant is awarded
  • Replacement of assets previously funded with a Lotterywest grant
  • Initiatives that are not considered affordable or accessible to the general public.
  • Grant requests that do not reflect, or are contrary to, Lotterywest's Good Practice Requirements.

In addition, given Lotterywest’s significant annual statutory allocation to the Department of Health and the Department’s Future Health Research and Innovation Fund, support for medical and health research and its translation and/or dissemination is not eligible for Lotterywest support.

  • The minimum grant request is $3,000.
  • Maximum $15,000 for organisations not registered for GST or that are unincorporated.
  • There is no upper limit, however, grants should be reasonable and represent value for money.
  • The GST component of items purchased by the grant is not eligible for support.
  • Lotterywest is a complementary grant-maker and encourages grant applicants to consider how others will contribute to an initiative (financially and/or in kind). For guidance on calculating in kind support click here.

Initiatives that are core business of government will not be supported.

Given the range and complexity of potential arrangements organisations may have with government agencies, we encourage organisations to discuss their grant application with us before applying.

Please note that from the point of formal application, it can take up to four months for a grant to be assessed and approved, or longer should further work be required. If you have a time sensitive proposal, please call our team to discuss your options.

Please call us if you plan to make multiple applications in a year so we can work with you on how best to do this.

If you’re a legal signatory or contact person for a current Lotterywest and/or Healthway supported organisation, you would have been sent an email with your username and instructions on how to set up a password.

If you’re a new representative for an existing grantee organisation, or if you’re registering a new organisation, please follow the instructions on this how-to guide. It will take up to two business days for new users to be granted access.

  • request a new Lotterywest or Healthway grant.
  • update your organisation’s details including adding governance documents, annual reports and financial statements.
  • view your organisation’s grant history, including past and current grant requests.
  • submit amendment requests for current grants.
  • report on your grant, including submitting progress and final acquittal reports.

Your application will be assessed by our team against the assessment criteria and a recommendation is then made to the Lotterywest Board.

A typical grant process looks like this:

  1. Seek information via Lotterywest website
  2. Talk with us about your proposal
  3. Gather your requirements and necessary documentation
  4. Develop and submit your request
  5. Assessment, including referee checks and any follow up conversation and requests for information from you
  6. Our internal review and recommendation to the Board
  7. Board meeting and review
  8. Recommendation to the Minister responsible for Lotterywest (the Premier)
  9. Application decision and written advice to you
  10. Grant payment
  11. Sharing your good news
  12. Evaluation, reporting and acquittal

All organisations are required to agree to the standard Lotterywest Conditions of Grant which needs to be signed upfront for every application.

Further conditions specific to your grant may also apply. These are communicated in the grant approval letter. Please refer to the Grant Approval Schedule. An example is available here.

We do not support the GST component of any items purchased by the grant.

Please don't include the GST component of items in your request. Please call us to discuss if need be.

Lotterywest grant conditions and documents must be signed by the persons legally able to enter into contracts on behalf of your organisation. We refer to these persons as the legal signatories.

Where your Organisation is an incorporated or unincorporated association, this document must be signed by the Chairperson/President of the Organisation and another committee member.

Where your Organisation is a company/corporation, this document is signed in accordance with section 127 of the Corporations Act 2001 or section 99.5 of the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (whichever is applicable) by:

(a) two Directors; or

(b) a Director and a Company Secretary; or

(c) as our company/corporation has only one Director, that Director

Your organisation’s legal signatory may choose to give this responsibility to someone else within your organisation - we refer to this person as the ‘Delegated Authority’. If this is the case for your organisation, you need to complete our Delegated Signing Authority Form. A copy is available here.

Please note: you only need to complete this form once and it will remain on our records for future grant applications. You will only need to complete this form again if your legal signatory or ‘Delegated Authority’ changes.

Lotterywest provides written advice on the outcome of all applications. If your grant is approved, we will advise you of payment arrangements and our requirements for reporting on the grant and acquitting (accounting for) the funds. This information is detailed in the Grant Approval Schedule. You can track the status of your application in the Grants Portal.

Yes. The request should be made in writing within 60 working days of receiving formal advice of the decision to the attention of Lotterywest CEO, and signed by your organisation's Chairperson or authorised delegate. Please include the reason for the review and what you propose as a resolution. We will advise you of the outcome as soon as possible. A request for review will not impact the consideration of any future applications.

Lotterywest and Healthway

No. While both Lotterywest and Healthway are grant makers and work to build a better and healthier Western Australia, each organisation has its own legislation, governing Board and strategic objectives.

Lotterywest returns all available profits from its lottery to the WA community and its grant-making focuses on five priority areas:

  1. Inclusive thriving community
  2. Connected cultural experiences
  3. Protected sustainable ecosystems
  4. Smart Innovative society
  5. Active healthy people (delivered in partnership with Healthway)

Healthway, the Western Australian Health Promotion Foundation, funds sport, arts, community activities, health promotion projects and research to inspire Western Australians to live healthier lives.

No. Lotterywest and Healthway supported organisations will be able to login in the same place. Your organisation’s information will only have to be uploaded and verified once.

It depends on what type of organisation you are. Each organisation type has different requirements surrounding their respective eligibility and funding.

Yes. As they’re separate organisations, you can apply to both if your organisation meets the eligibility requirements.

No. Lotterywest and Healthway have separate application and assessment processes. However, our team can work with you if you intend to apply to both organisations for the same request.

The Lotterywest and Healthway Portal is a central system for both Lotterywest and Healthway, the information provided in your funding request may be accessed by both organisations.

No. You’ll need to apply for funding to each organisation separately, however our team will assist to simplify the process.

No. Maximum amounts are separate and depend on what type of organisation you are and which program you are applying for. Lotterywest has a minimum request amount of $3,000.
