$4 million win for hospital employees

The owner of one of the weekend’s Saturday Lotto Superdraw Division One winning tickets has come forward and revealed the ticket was part of a work syndicate at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

The Slikpik was purchased from Eden Hill Newsagency in Bassendean and is now worth $4 million.

The Division One prize will be shared between 50 Fiona Stanley Hospital employees, including orderlies, nurses, cleaners, and supplies staff.

The ticket holder said she found out about the group’s Division One win while she was at work.

“I immediately ran down the corridor to my boss’ office,” she said.

“Then I messaged the group chat to let everyone know, and called those who aren’t on social media to share the good news.

“This will be life-changing for a lot of people, and some really touching stories have come out of this experience.”

The winner also revealed that she’s in charge of organising two workplace syndicates – one for Saturday Lotto and one for Powerball jackpots.

“It was actually the Powerball group who won. We had a small win last week, so I put it towards a ticket for the Superdraw.

“My Saturday group did win a Division Two prize a couple of weeks ago though!”

Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group (FSFHG) Executive Director Neil Doverty said “these staff are often behind the scenes but play a critical role in the day-to-day running of our hospital and caring for our patients – they are truly unsung heroes and are incredibly deserving of this win.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Emma Rogers said it’s always great to hear that a prize will be shared amongst a group.

“It would be fantastic to see another West Aussie syndicate share in a Division One win this week.”

The next chance to take out a prize is in OZ Lotto’s $30 million jackpot.

Tickets are available until 6pm Tuesday, in-store, online and via the App.
