When a thought turns into reality

A few months ago a Bayswater teacher wondered if he ever won Lotto whether he would keep working, and now that thought is a very real question.

After checking his ticket on Sunday morning the educator made sure his sums were adding up before confirming the win.

“At first I thought we had five numbers and I was like “great I have won $1000”, but turns out it was more like a million,” he said.

“When I showed my wife the numbers she burst out laughing.

“Earlier this year I hypothetically said to myself that if I won Lotto I would keep working.”

True to his word, despite winning more than $1.6 million, he still plans to work, however he will now be able to buy a dream home for his growing family.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said the winner was one of three Saturday Lotto winners from the weekend.

“Saturday’s $20 million Superdraw produced 12 winners across the country, with three of those coming from WA,” Ms Coleman said.

“We’re hoping to see some more WA players visit our Winners Room after tonight’s $20 million Powerball draw.”

“Last financial year saw almost $455 million returned in prizes to WA players.”

Tickets for tonight’s $20 million Powerball draw can be bought until 6pm from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.

Players are encouraged to play responsibly and spend only what they can afford.
