WA’s Powerball Division One ticket sold in Goldfields region

Lotterywest can confirm the Division One winning ticket from Western Australia that won a $53 million share of last night’s $160 million Powerball jackpot was sold in the Goldfields region.

Lotterywest CEO Ralph Addis said it’s fantastic news for the region.

“The ticket holder has made contact with us, and he’s very excited,” he said.

“Whilst the ticket is a single ticket, it does seem the winner shared the ticket with a group of mates, which is just fantastic to see it shared amongst numerous people.

“We do still have a process to follow, and until the physical ticket is verified at Lotterywest HQ, we can’t confirm any further details.”

This marks WA’s third Powerball Division One win in the last 12 months, following the Kalgoorlie syndicate who took home a $63 million share of the $120 million jackpot in February and the 55-gym going ladies who shared in the $80 million jackpot in December.

More than 855,000 WA winners took home a Powerball prize tonight across the other Divisions, including 24 Division Two wins each worth over $77,000.

Thanks to WA players buying tickets over the last six weeks of Powerball jackpotting, Lotterywest has raised over $29.7 million to support the local community through its grants program.

1.4 million tickets were sold in last night’s draw, with one in two West Australians participating in the historic jackpot.
