Western Australia is continuing to live up to its reputation as a ‘lucky’ Lotto state after producing another Division One Lotto winner.
The winning ticket, worth $7.5 million, was one of two winners across Australia to share in tonight’s $15 million OZ Lotto jackpot.
WA’s Division One ticket was purchased through a Lotterywest membership online, while the other winner was sold in Victoria.
Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said WA was no stranger to striking multi-million dollar luck in 2018.
“This is a pretty significant win for WA, our third largest Lotto prize this year in fact,” Ms Compagnone said.
“It follows a win worth $20 million and one worth $10 million just a few months ago,” she added.
“And more good news is that not only are we seeing our players win time and time again, but when they purchase a Lotterywest game, they’re also helping to raise vital funds to support their local community,” she said.
A majority of funds raised from Lotterywest games is returned to WA through prizes and grants. Last financial year this totalled over $265 million given in grants to support the WA community and $440 million was shared amongst WA lottery winners.
Almost 40,000 other WA players picked up a prize in tonight’s OZ Lotto jackpot including a Division Two winning ticket worth almost $65,000 sold from Hocking News.
The next chance to win big is this Thursday when a $20 million Powerball jackpot goes up for grabs.
Tickets are available until 6pm jackpot day from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.
